Global Animal Rescue And Response
Global Animal Rescue And Response Is A 501c3 Comprised Of Highly Trained Veterans And Emergency Responders
Our mission is to globally respond to animals in times of crisis, both natural and manmade, while providing technical expertise and compassion to those in need. Our primary focus is to rescue, protect, aid, and assist animals and their human caretakers when they need it the most.
Two years ago this was our office. Artillery was what flew through the air. Now it's been replaced mostly by drones and KABs, which can both be much deadlier and accurate
She Had Been Waiting Months For Someone To Evacuate She And Her Animals (18 August 2026)
LONG VIDEO!!!!!!!
Animals Evacuated - 34
Owners Evacuated - 1
Kilometers Driven - 1,300
Mission Length - 21 Hours
We had a request through UAnimals of a woman in Kramatorsk who has been trying for months to evacuate with her animals. She has a farm where she has taken in animals and keeps them in a sanctuary setting at her house. She has been begging to be evacuated, but no one would come for her. Thankfully we could do it since we could get the cow into our van along with the majority of the goats. Our good friend Tom Bates with K9 Rescue Ukraine planned to come along as well to help out.
We realized the day before that we were going to need a second van because she wanted to bring personal items and had animals she wanted separated from the others. Thankfully Tom had his van, into which we loaded some of the dogs, goats, chickens.
The pregnant cow was the hardest to load since she was unsure of what was going on. Finally she loaded and then twelve goats went after her. This was after we loaded five chickens and a dog into our van. With the sound of artillery all around and us and the constant beeping of the drone detectors, we started our drive out with Nataliya following us in her car. Shortly after we departed, we had to hook her trailer onto the back of our van since she would never make that drive pulling all that weight with her car.
The final tally of animals rescued and evacuated were:
1 Pregnant Cow
14 Goats
14 Chickens
4 Dogs
1 Cat
1 Owner (Owner is not an animal)

Working To Stop The Unwanted Litters (23 July 2026)
After we caught the first girl, we turned our attention to the other two sisters of the one we caught. These dogs were at the age that they were going to soon come into heat and then continue the cycle of unwanted puppies. The only way to stop them was to sterilize the dogs, and the only way to sterilize them was to dart them and catch them with sedation.
We placed the sedated girl where the food was so they would smell her and come back to eat with her there. Once the dogs showed up it was a matter of getting the right angle to send the dart. The first one got hung up in the pipe by the tail and did not fly correctly. The second dart luckily found a spot and Max followed the dog with the drone until he was sleeping about 90 seconds later.
We then had a chance to dart the mother of all of these dogs as well as another litter that was currently at the location. She did not come close enough and we were running out of daylight. Stan and I walked out and collected the one darted from the field and then loaded both dogs up to go to the vet the be sterilized along with the others caught or collected that day.
Programs like this are what your generous donations allow us to continue working on. All donations are fully tax deductible as GARR is a 501(c)3 IRS registered non-profit.

Stopping The Cycle Before It Starts (23 July 2026)
During our last trip, we went twice to this agricultural facility to try and catch the ones who have eluded all of Stan's efforts thus far. The goal was to catch seven dogs, of which we knew three were girls. Looking at them I could tell they were young, so we needed to stop the cycle of unwanted litters before they began. The problem was the dogs would not come to anyone but this one man who feeds them. Even then, they would not get close enough to allow him to pick them up for us to take.
As you can see the dart found it's mark. Max had a drone up in the air (still quite unnerving after last year) looking for where the dogs were coming from. After she was darted, the girl started wandering back into the thick brush with another of her littermates. We hoped to be able to dart her sibling as well, but he disappeared once it was apparent his sister was not going to be covering any more distance. Thankfully he circled back to the feeding point and we were able to dart him after getting her back so they knew she was OK.
We knew these were older puppies. There is concern about age on dogs of sterilizing too soon or too late. But as you have seen in our videos, dogs of all ages are having puppies and the only responsible way to stop the cycle is through sterilization. Stan was concerned she might be too young, but a quick teeth check while she was over my shoulders confirmed she had all of her adult teeth. She was taken to the clinic and sterilized along with her siblings before returning them to the same place.
We are doing everything we can to help these animals with the only possible method that is able to get results in situations like this.....
One dart at at a time........

They Don't Want The Dogs. But They Don't Want Us To Help Them, Either. (23 July 2026)
Oftentimes in Eastern Europe there is a constant issue we run into during sterilization campaigns. People don't want to take responsibility nor want the animals living around them there. Yet when we come to take them for sterilization, they threaten to call the police, accuse us of killing the dogs, and even get physically confrontational. But they do not hesitate to kill the puppies that are born by drowning them, burying them alive, or poisoning them.
There had been numerous help requests for this mother/daughter pair for quite some time that Stan had received. The problem is that no one could catch the duo, and no one was willing to isolate them until Stan could come and take them for sterilization. As a result, both of them continued to have litter after litter which the local residents dealt with in their own ways.
As you can see in the video, there were tense moments with residents threatening to call the police for us helping these dogs stop the endless cycles of litters. Residents yelled threats from the windows, and off camera we had probably half a dozen get confrontational. But they also did not want the dogs there in the first place because they were an "inconvenience" with all their litters.
Thankfully the problem was solved with both dogs being sterilized and returned two days later to the same location. They can continue to live their lives in a familiar environment free from constant litters, vaccinated, and treated for a demodex mange condition as well. Ironically, some of the same people who confronted us on taking them thanked us when returning them.
Baby steps............

Starting Life All Over Again After The Evac (21 August 2026)
This is what most people do not see. This is actually the hard part of doing the evacs. The initial evac might be full of excitement, adrenaline, or danger in the kill box, but after the evac really can be the hard part. Once the adrenaline wears off and you can "relax" a bit, the real battle become the kilometers and hours that lay ahead to get these people and animals to their new lives. That is where the fatigue sets in
In this case her evac started at 0600 and we were not done getting she and her animals settled in until well after dark. The drive from her pickup to several other evac points on the south side of Kramatorsk, and then to her new home took more than twelve hours. In those hours there is a lot of coordinating with the awaiting family on times, delays, language barriers, and more. There were stops made before getting here, and stops to be made after. Yet again, the night carried into the next day before the work was done.
These people have lived entire lives in villages or cities and have to condense those lives and years down into just a few bags, boxes, or sometimes just what they can carry with them. But she refused to leave without the animals she cares for, both in her home and on the streets. One woman and twenty four animals combined with just a few bags and an old microwave. It was clear to everyone what in her life was the most important thing..............
The most important items in her life were barking and meowing in our crates.
God Bless Her..............
