DECA fosters a community of networking and support: whether that may be through trading pins during the opening ceremony or sharing stories while waiting in line for your competition! Through the various competitions I participated in Florida, I not only expanded my knowledge about marketing, but also learned vital soft skills that will help me in the professional world! 🌍

DECA is a marketing club in which we attend competitions and seminars that teach us tons about marketing and other business related fields. More Than A Classroom: How CTE teachers build the future workforce Read about the vital role CTE teachers play in shaping students’ futures and building a skilled, career-ready workforce.

Throughout my time in the Smyrna High School Marketing pathway, I have had the opportunity to observe many other amazing pathways in my school. One pathway in particular that I admire, although very different from mine, is the Smyrna High School agriculture pathway, specifically their FFA chapter! They are super involved in the community, always volunteering, winning state and national competitions, raising money, and coming up with unique activities to get members involved. Through the Ag pathway, students get to learn various skills such as welding, farming, and other trade related tasks, which they will use throughout their lives and future careers!
