Psalm 84:11
Wanting
more is the
way of the world.
Rarely are we satisfied
with what we have, especially
when it feels like we deserve more.
More love,
more time,
more stuff,
more power,
more friends,
more money,
more benefits,
more blessings,
more opportunities,
more breakthroughs.
While we
may have the
capacity to HOLD MORE,
we may not have the capacity
to HANDLE MORE. Perhaps, it's the
OVERFLOW that has you OVERWHELMED!
No GOOD thing will God withhold from the upright!

At some point,
you have to stop
blocking the door,
stop staring at the problem,
and stop spinning your wheels.
You have a choice:
Find the way
Make the way or
Get out of the way!
Because the truth
is you've been here
WAYYYYYYY too long!

"Jesus sought me when a stranger, Wandering from the fold of God He, to rescue me from danger, Interposed His precious blood." - #77 AMEC Hymnal (Come Thou Font)
It's because of that precious blood! It's because of Jesus! It's because of the faith of my parents and my grandparents and the people of Bethel-Stamford who prayed for me when my parents brought me the altar for baptism praying that I would experience the impartation of the Holy Spirit so I would give my life and spend my life working for God's Glory and Our Good!
To my parents, who have gone on to be with the Lord but left me their faith; to my family, who gave me the freedom to serve God even when it meant being absent for birthdays, reunions, and graduations; to my father in ministry, all my spiritual parents, and to every mentor who poured into me - thank you!
To my First District family, every friend and supporter who offered encouragement, rolled a rock under me when I was weary, sat with me under the juniper tree, or put a little change in my hand so I could make this journey - thank you!
To the women of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, incorporated, the Links incorporated and the members of women in ministry - thank you!
To my campaign team, who worked day in and day out for God's Glory - thank you!
To every congregation I served, that gave me room to grow and mature in faith as a leader while trusting God enough to follow me - thank you!
To everyone who heard God call my name and repeated it in private and public places, no matter the political or personal cost or consequence - thank you!
And to all the children of Richard, Flora, Sarah and Jarena who elected me to serve God as the 143rd Bishop in the African Methodist Episcopal Church today. - THANK YOU.
