🎬 Dothan is joining one of the South's most respected film programs.

Dothan Performing Arts is proud to announce that we have been selected as one of only 12 screening partners for the 2026–2027 Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers, presented by South Arts in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts.

As South Arts celebrates its 50th anniversary, we're honored to bring six award-winning documentary films—and the filmmakers themselves, to the Dothan Opera House.

Each screening includes a live Q&A with the filmmaker immediately following the film, giving audiences a chance to hear the stories behind the documentaries and participate in meaningful conversations.

Documentary film has a unique way of bringing people together, introducing new perspectives, and creating conversations that continue long after the credits roll. We're excited to add this nationally recognized series to Dothan's growing arts scene and invite our community to experience these remarkable stories alongside the filmmakers who created them.

A century-old shadow is coming to the historic Dothan Opera House.

On Friday, October 23, the Tri-State Community Orchestra (TCO) will perform a live symphonic score alongside a screening of the legendary silent horror film Nosferatu.

The haunting imagery of this cinematic classic will fill the screen as musicians from across Tri-State area bring every moment to life through the power of a live orchestra.

It’s a rare opportunity to enjoy silent film as audiences did generations ago, inside one of Dothan’s most beautiful and historic venue.
