Some days as a business owner are cute little “answer emails, clean a house, go home” days…

And then there are days like TODAY. 😂🫠

I’m up bright and early heading into a deep clean, leaving in the middle of it to pick up a rental car, coming BACK to finish the clean, then running a few last-minute errands before heading home to pack, organize, tie up loose ends and hopefully get a few hours of sleep.

Why?

Because at 4AM we’re hitting the road for Phoenix for Hell City Tattoo Convention! 🖤🔥

Owning Crystal Clean means sometimes I’m the cleaner, scheduler, customer service department, supply runner, accountant, problem solver, content creator and professional chaos coordinator… all before lunch. 😂

But I also built this business because I wanted a life that gave me the freedom to WORK hard and still LIVE hard.

So today we clean.
Tonight we pack.
Tomorrow we ROAD TRIP. 🛻 🌵🖤

And somewhere in between, I’m gonna need approximately 47 business hours worth of sleep. 😂

As always, I’m incredibly grateful for every client who keeps Crystal Clean busy enough to make this crazy little life possible. 🩵

Out of office from 8/12-8/18.

Apparently one of the newest requirements for being a “professional” business owner is pretending AI doesn’t exist.

I see it constantly:
“If I can tell a business used ChatGPT for a post, I won’t hire them.”
“If I see an AI-generated flyer, I immediately scroll.”
“If you need AI to write your content, maybe you shouldn’t own a business.”
And every time I see it, I wonder…
Do y’all interview your plumber about who designed his logo before you let him fix your toilet? 😭

Because personally, when I hire someone, I care whether they’re GOOD AT THE THING I’M PAYING THEM TO DO.

I own a cleaning company & I wear a hundred other hats. You are hiring me because I know how to CLEAN- not because I spent three hours manually designing a Facebook graphic when technology could help me do it in 15 minutes. 🙄

AI didn’t build Crystal Clean.
AI didn’t earn our awards.
AI didn’t build relationships with our clients.
AI didn’t learn which chemicals can destroy natural stone.
AI isn’t crawling around your toilet.
AI isn’t scrubbing your shower.
AI isn’t answering the phone when something goes wrong.
That would be me. 😂

What AI can do is help me organize my thoughts, create graphics, brainstorm content, research topics, write educational posts and handle some of the hundred little things that come with running a business. You know what we used to call that? Working smarter, not harder.

Nobody says:
“You used a calculator?! I only hire businesses that do long division.”
“You use QuickBooks?! REAL business owners keep a handwritten ledger.”
“You used GPS to get here?! Absolutely not. Rand McNally or GET OFF MY PROPERTY.”
“You made that flyer in Canva?! I only hire people formally trained in graphic design.”
😂😂😂

Technology evolves. Successful businesses evolve with it. And here's the part that might hurt some feelings: Being able to recognize that a business used AI doesn't automatically make you more intelligent than the person who used it. 🎤. Sometimes it just means they found a faster way to accomplish a task that has absolutely nothing to do with the service they're being paid to provide.

Now with that being said- blindly copying AI-generated information without fact-checking it? Problem.
Using AI to fake qualifications, reviews, employees, experience or results? HUGE problem.
Letting AI completely replace your personality until your business sounds like a robot wearing a blazer? Also probably not the move. 😂

But using it as a TOOL?
Absolutely.
You don't have to like AI. You don't have to use AI. And you're completely free not to hire a business because they use it. BUT I'm equally free to think that's a pretty strange way to determine whether someone is actually good at their job. 🤷‍♀️

Because at Crystal Clean, I would much rather spend those extra two hours actually taking care of my clients than proving to Facebook that I can make a flyer without ChatGPT. 👌

AI is a tool. The talent, experience, integrity and reputation behind Crystal Clean are still 100% human. And if using the newest tools available to run my business smarter costs me your business? Well… I was probably never the cleaning company for you anyway. 🩵✨

Mail day! 📦🧽

These Magic Cloths just showed up, and I'm not gonna lie... I'm pretty excited to put them to the test! 👀

They claim to clean with water only, so naturally my curiosity got the best of me. As a professional cleaner, I'm always interested in products that make big promises- but I'm also not afraid to tell you when something doesn't live up to the hype.

You know me... if they impress me, I'll tell you. If they're all marketing and no magic, I'll tell you that too. 😂

I'll be testing them on:
✨ Glass & mirrors
✨ Stainless steel
✨ Bathroom fixtures
✨ Kitchen surfaces
✨ And a few real-life cleaning challenges.

Stay tuned for an honest review!

Have any of you tried these yet? I'd love to hear your thoughts before I put them through the Crystal Clean test! 💎🧼

👻 Some people believe in ghosts...

We believe in hard water stains.

They're the silent hauntings of bathrooms everywhere.
Cloudy glass.
Ghostly white buildup.
Chrome that's lost its shine.
Stone floors that have forgotten what they looked like new.

Then Crystal Clean shows up...

✨ Exorcism complete.

No tricks.
No filters.
No camera magic.
Just years of experience, the right products, and a whole lot of elbow grease.

Happy Spooky Season... from the cleaners who make the scary stuff disappear. 🖤🧹

📚 Back-to-School = Busy Season! Here's How to Keep Your Home From Falling Apart 🍎🧹

Let's be honest... once school starts, life gets a little chaotic.

Between early mornings, homework, sports, dance practice, work, and trying to figure out what's for dinner, keeping the house spotless can quickly fall to the bottom of the priority list.

Here are a few simple habits that make a BIG difference:

✨ The 10-Minute Evening Reset
Before bed, set a timer for just 10 minutes. Everyone in the house picks up after themselves. You'll wake up to a much calmer home.

👟 Shoes Stay at the Door
One small habit can dramatically reduce the amount of dirt, grass, sand, and germs tracked through your home.

🎒 Create a "Drop Zone"
Designate one spot for backpacks, lunch boxes, shoes, and jackets. Less clutter means less stress.

🧺 One Load a Day
Instead of letting laundry pile up until the weekend, wash one load each day. It's much easier to stay caught up than to spend an entire Saturday doing laundry.

🧽 Wipe It When You Use It
Whether it's the bathroom sink after brushing teeth or the kitchen counters after making lunch, a quick 30-second wipe prevents grime from building up.

🗑️ Take Out the Trash Before It's Overflowing
Especially with school lunches! Emptying the kitchen trash a little more often helps eliminate odors before they start.

🛏️ Make the Beds
It takes less than two minutes, instantly makes bedrooms look cleaner, and sets the tone for the rest of the day.

🤖 Let Your Cleaning Tools Work for You
If you have a robot vacuum, schedule it to run while everyone is at school. If not, keep a cordless vacuum handy for quick, five-minute touch-ups instead of dragging out the big vacuum every time.

💙 Remember: Progress Over Perfection
Your home doesn't have to look magazine-perfect every day. Small, consistent habits are what keep a home feeling clean-
even during the busiest seasons.

What's your favorite back-to-school cleaning hack? Share it in the comments- you might help another busy family!

🚨 Moving Out? Here’s Why a Quick Wipe Down Isn’t Enough… 🚨

One of the biggest mistakes people make when leaving a home is assuming a “clean-looking” house is the same thing as a properly cleaned house.

It’s not. 👀

A move-out clean is about more than making things appear presentable. It’s about removing the buildup that happens during everyday living and making sure the property is truly ready for its next chapter.

Think about the places that often get forgotten:

✨ Baseboards collecting dust and grime
✨ Door frames and trim with fingerprints and buildup
✨ Cabinets and drawers that need attention
✨ Appliances that have been used for years
✨ Bathrooms where soap scum and hard water leave their mark
✨ Floors and corners where dirt hides until everything is moved out

Whether you’re trying to protect your security deposit, preparing a home for sale, or simply wanting to leave a property the right way- a professional move-out clean can save you time, stress, and potential headaches.

And here’s the thing… once the furniture is gone, every detail becomes visible. 👀

At Crystal Clean, we don’t just make homes “look clean.” We help restore spaces, remove the evidence of everyday life, and leave properties ready for whatever comes next. ✨

Can we normalize something? 🤔

Hiring a house cleaner is not something to be embarrassed about.

One thing I've learned over the years is that some clients will quietly ask, "Please don't tell anyone you clean my house."
And the truth is... we wouldn't anyway.

Professional cleaners value discretion. What happens in your home stays in your home. We don't discuss your house, your belongings, or your business with anyone.
But I also wish more people knew there's absolutely no shame in asking for help.

People hire cleaners for all kinds of reasons:
✨ They work long hours.
✨ They have kids.
✨ They're caring for aging parents.
✨ They're dealing with health issues.
✨ They're running businesses.
✨ Or maybe they'd simply rather spend their free time making memories instead of scrubbing bathrooms.

Having your home professionally cleaned isn't a sign that you're lazy or incapable. It's a decision to invest your time where it matters most.

Your home is your safe place. Your privacy is important. And if you're ever one of our clients, you can count on both your home and your trust being treated with the respect they deserve. 🩵

The best cleaning companies don't just protect your home- they protect your privacy.

Happy Monday!

🚨 "All Natural" Doesn't Always Mean "Safe for Everything."

One of the biggest misconceptions I see in the cleaning industry is the belief that if a product is natural, it must be harmless.

Let's talk about one of the most common examples: vinegar.

Yes, vinegar is natural.
Yes, it has cleaning uses.
But no- it is NOT a one-size-fits-all cleaner.

Vinegar is an ACID (acetic acid). That acidity is exactly what makes it effective for dissolving mineral deposits, hard water buildup, and soap scum. But that same acidity can also damage A LOT of surfaces.

❌ Avoid using vinegar on:
• Natural stone (marble, granite, limestone, travertine)
• Many stone countertops
• Waxed or specialty-finished wood floors
• Some hardwood finishes
• Certain metals
• Surfaces where the manufacturer specifically advises against acidic cleaners

"Natural" does NOT automatically mean "non-toxic."

Poison ivy is natural.
Arsenic is natural.
Bleach is synthetic, yet when used correctly, it can be an appropriate disinfectant.

The word “non-toxic" also deserves context. Everything has a toxicity level- even water. Safety depends on the product, the concentration, how it's used, and the surface it's used on.

As professional cleaners, we don't choose products because they're trendy or because a label says "all natural." We choose products based on chemistry, safety, effectiveness, and compatibility with the surface we're cleaning.

The right cleaner on the wrong surface can cause permanent damage.

✨ My advice?
Instead of looking for one miracle cleaner, learn what each product is designed to do- and what it should NEVER be used on. Your home (and your wallet) will thank you.

Cleaning isn't just about making something look clean. It's about knowing the science behind what you're putting on your surfaces. 💯

🚨 How Would YOU Handle This Nightmare Client?🚨

Let's see where everyone stands...

A potential client calls needing a deep clean. They tell you:

❌ They don't want a contract or to sign any paperwork.
❌ They don't want to pay a deposit.
❌ They want to be able to cancel anytime without a fee.
❌ They expect you to squeeze them in and make them priority before your scheduled clients.
❌ They want a discount because "it'll only take a couple hours."
❌ And after all of that... they tell you they'll be watching you clean the entire time to make sure you're doing it "right."

Would you...

❤️ A. Accept the job.
👍 B. Politely decline.
🤔 C. Accept it with very clear boundaries.
😂 D. Turn around and run.

Not every client is the right client.

One of the hardest lessons I've learned as a business owner is that protecting your peace, your team, and your business is just as important as gaining another client.

So... what would YOU do?
