🌧️ We finally got some rain! After a historic drought, the garden is soaking it all in.
With the help of our irrigation system and nutrient/biological foliar sprays, our plants are already responding beautifully—stronger, greener, and more robust.
We’re harvesting crisp lettuce, kale, carrots, and turnips, and early squash, cucumbers, and tomatoes are shaping up nicely.

"Mid-week on the farm. Today I'm planting more field tomatoes/ harvesting carrots/ trellising vining crops like our tomatoes, squash and cucumbers. This is the work behind your weekly box — and I love every bit of it."

Some places call it “agrotourism,” but if you look a little closer, it’s just extraction dressed up as an experience. Fields planted for the photo, not the ecosystem. Acres of color with no pollinators, no biodiversity, no intention beyond ticket sales and traffic. I can’t help but notice the dead, cracked, compacted soil beneath it all. A quiet reminder of what’s being taken and not given back. The land gets pushed past its limits year after year for a few weeks of profit. And the hard part is, real farms get lumped into the same category. Not all agrotourism is like that. Some farmers are doing it right. They’re building soil while they welcome you in. Planting for pollinators, not just aesthetics. Keeping money in their communities instead of pulling it out. Running educational programs for children. Creating something that feeds people, and the neighborhoods that count on them, not just their instagram camera roll. That’s who we should be showing up for. Because every ticket you buy, every place you visit, every dollar you spend, is a vote for the kind of agriculture you want to exist. Some people see pretty flowers. I see a system of neglect that continues to put profit over people and planet. We can do better, and we should. ✌️ & ❤️
