Welcome to Northside, Hannah Rufli! 💚⚔️

We are so excited to welcome Coach Hannah to the Northside Methodist Academy family!

She is serving as our Girls PE, Strength & Conditioning, and Elementary PE teacher, as well as our Volleyball Coach and Assistant Basketball Coach. She is also a Certified Personal Trainer, Strength & Conditioning Coach, and Injury Prevention Specialist.

Outside of school, Coach Hannah loves spending time with her family and all things sports! 🏐🏀

We are excited to welcome Mr. Melvin to the Northside Methodist Academy family! 💚

Mr. Melvin will be teaching 12th Grade Government & Economics and 7th Grade World Geography & Civics. He is beginning his ninth year in education, with all nine years dedicated to teaching history. He is passionate about helping students think critically, understand the past, and become the leaders of tomorrow.

Outside the classroom, Mr. Melvin enjoys hunting and fishing and spending time with his wife, Chasity, and their two pets, Gabe, their Maltese, and Ahyla, their cat. 🐾 He is also in his final year of law school at Birmingham School of Law, where he attends the Saturday program as he works toward his Juris Doctorate.

Mr. Melvin chose Northside because of our strong academics and amazing students who genuinely love Jesus. He wanted to be part of a school community where students love to learn as much as he loves to teach!

Help us give a BIG NMA welcome to Tanner White, our new Physical Education Teacher, Head Boys Basketball Coach, and Assistant Football Coach! 💚💙

Coach White is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Coaching and is excited to transition into a full-time role at Northside Methodist Academy after joining our coaching staff last year.

When he’s not coaching or teaching, he loves staying active—whether he’s playing basketball in local men’s leagues and tournaments, hitting the disc golf course, or playing pickleball!

Coach White chose NMA because of our welcoming staff, supportive families, and Christ-centered culture. His passion is to mentor students both spiritually and athletically, helping them develop Godly character, discipline, integrity, perseverance, and discover their God-given potential.

We are excited to have him serving our students and athletes and can’t wait to see all that God has in store for his ministry at NMA!

Mr. Corbin is currently in his 3rd year at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, where he is pursuing a Master of Divinity in Preaching and Pastoral Ministry.

Outside of the classroom, he enjoys reading, spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and enjoying wildlife. Most of all, he loves spending time with his family and trying new things with his daughter!

Help us welcome Bonnie Pollan to the Northside Methodist Academy family! We are so excited to have Ms. Pollan joining us as our 9th & 10th Grade English teacher this year! 📚✨

Ms. Pollan earned her B.S. in Education from Troy State University and brings an incredible 31 years of teaching experience at several local schools, working with students from K3 through 12th grade.

When she’s not inspiring students in the classroom, Ms. Pollan enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family. ❤️

But what makes her return to Northside extra special? Northside is home! 🏡 Ms. Pollan attended NMA from 4th–8th grade and even worked in our daycare during the early 2000s.

We are thrilled to welcome her back to the place where it all began! Welcome home, Ms. Pollan! 💚💙⚔️
