Do you know who David Walker was? A son of a slave, he published an Appeal for the abolition of slavery in 1829.
In 1866, David Walker's son was one of the first black men elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives.
Never heard of him? You need to take Tim McCarthy's American History class in the Clemente Course.
