We design and build a formula-style race car to represent the University of Central Florida in an international competition.
UCF Knights Racing Formula SAE is an academic club that strives to design, build, and race the best Formula SAE race car each year. 95% of the work is done in house. We employ a 4130 steel tube frame chassis, Suzuki gsxr 600 engine, carbon fiber bodywork, and tons of other racecar goodies. It weighs about 500 pounds, with ~70 HP, and is faster than almost anything you can imagine. If you love cars

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the shop, not an engine was stirring, all work had come to a stop. The stockings were hung by the dyno with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas would bring horsepower to spare! The team lead was nestled, all snug in his bed, while visions of a complete and on-schedule car danced in his head. Our president with her oil rag and members in knight caps, we had settled our brains for some short winter naps. When out at shop rose such a clatter, for it’s manufacturing season, which is no smaller matter! It’s time for all hands on deck, we’re about to get busy as all heck!

Like kids on Christmas, everyone is excited to get their hands on the car! Join SAE for translating classroom learning into real world work experience. We’ve revamped our membership processes and can’t wait to get more people on the team over this next year! CHARGE ON to something exciting! ⚡️

Finals exams are over and grades are in! How do we celebrate? An officers & leads retreat to Universal! We had a fantastic time riding rollercoasters, sipping butterbeer, and emphasizing the “family” aspect of Fast & Furious. What a great group of people and an even better team!

Cars & Coffee is always a great time! The team had so much fun showing the Central Florida community what we do at UCF. We also got to drop off a sleigh full of gifts for the Toys for Tots charity drive, ensuring a good holiday for the kiddos! 🎄🎁

Track days, best days. 🌟 As we officially begin the manufacturing phase for our KR22 vehicle, we will continue to learn from our previous car and use it to train our drivers for the 2022 season.
