This past week Sewer Equipment welcomed Jerry Weimer to conduct the annual NASSCO training class.

This 3-day training and certification program taught students to properly identify defects and other conditions in pipelines, laterals, and manholes. Using standardized NASSCO codes, the student also gained knowledge on how to properly rate severity of defects, playing an important role in helping system owners prioritize repairs and manage their assets!

A large sanitary sewer system can move enormous volumes of air, sometimes comparable to the wastewater flow itself.

As wastewater moves through pipes, it pushes and pulls air through manholes, vents, and pump stations. In some systems, air movement can exceed water velocity in certain sections, which is why odor control and corrosion issues can appear far from the original source.

Friday takeaway: You're not just managing water flow; you're managing an underground ventilation network.

As we recognize Trailer Safety Week, today's focus is on one of the most critical aspects of towing safety: proper hitching.

Before transporting equipment, operators should verify that the coupler is securely connected to the hitch ball, safety chains are properly attached, and all locking mechanisms are engaged. These simple but essential checks help reduce the risk of trailer separation and improve safety for everyone on the road.

At Sewer Equipment, safety is a priority. Whether you're heading to a jobsite or transporting equipment across town, taking a few extra moments to inspect your hitching system can make a significant difference.

Each year, Sewer Equipment is proud to support our local Dixon Habitat for Humanity through both a monetary donation and hands-on volunteer work. This year's build day was another meaningful opportunity to give back, work together, and help make homeownership more accessible for families in our community.

Habitat for Humanity's mission goes beyond building houses. They build stability, independence, and hope for generations to come. We are honored to play a small part in that mission and grateful to everyone who volunteered their time and effort!
