Dillingham Fire and Rescue

🚨🚒 Firefighter/Medic of the Week Reveal! 🚑🔥
Sound the alarms! Congratulations to SARA FOX for being the first person to correctly guess this week’s Dillingham Fire Department member! Your gift card is ready for pickup at the Fire and EMS office. 🎉

🔥 This week’s Firefighter/Medic of the Week is: CONNIE PANNY! 🔥

Connie joined the department in 2024 and has already made a big impact on our crew and community. She may be small, but she is mighty — hardworking, dedicated, and always ready to answer the call. Her first job was lifeguarding, and today she continues helping others as a nurse and EMT 2 - Saving people has clearly always been part of her story!

Before moving to Dillingham, Chicago was the furthest west she had ever lived — now she is serving strong in Alaska! When she is not responding to calls, Connie loves spending time with her two dogs, her son, and her husband. Fun fact: she also lives a little like a Hallmark movie, helping her family run a hobby Christmas tree farm. 🎄 And if that was not impressive enough, Connie ran on more calls than anyone else last season! 🚒

Please join us in giving Connie a big Dillingham Fire Department shoutout for her service, dedication, and heart for helping others! 👏🔥

🚒 Firefighter/Medic of the Week: CRAIG SAVO! 🚒

Craig has been serving with the department since 2015, and we’re lucky to have him on the team. Whether he’s showing up ready to help, keeping a first aid kit close by, or jumping in exactly when he’s needed most, Craig is the kind of person every department is grateful for.

When he’s not saving the day, you’ll probably find him hunting, fishing, or baking cheesecakes for family functions — because apparently being helpful, prepared, and a cheesecake pro is just how Craig rolls. Saving the day may come naturally to him, but let’s be honest… the uniform definitely makes his hero walk way cooler. 😎
Thanks for being a team player, Craig, and for always popping up right when we need you most!

🔥 Firefighter/Medic of the Week: Guess Who! 🚑

It’s time for a little mystery… can you name this week’s featured firefighter/medic? 🤔

Here are 3 clues:
🩹 Always has a first aid kit ready to go.
🍰 The designated cheesecake baker for family events.
🎣 Would rather be hunting or fishing than just about anywhere else.

Congratulations to this weeks winner: CHRISSIE GREENE! Your gift card is available for pick up at the Fire and EMS office

Firefighter/Medic of the Week: TRAVIS WASSILLIE

Travis joined the department in May and apparently decided “easing in” was not on the agenda. He’s already jumping headfirst into fire and EMS calls, keeping everyone on their toes, and — as our youngest member — casually running circles around the rest of us like we’re operating on dial-up. Rumor has it he’ll even hop on his dirt bike and ride to calls just to make sure he’s the first one there.

He may not have a hero walk yet, but he definitely has a hero’s ride — and if he ever asks to learn how to drift in the ambulance, just pretend you didn’t hear it. 😉 Naturally talented, always ready, and reliable when it counts. We can’t wait to see all the great things Travis does with the department!

🎉 Guess Who? Game Time! 🎉

Be the first to name this mystery department member correctly and you’ll score a gift card!

3 Clues to Crack the Case:
1. One of the youngest members of the department
2. Always ready with a wicked sense of humor
3. When it comes to riding, they’re all in — riding is life!

Think you know who it is? Take your best guess!

Firefighter/Medic of the Week: NICK SCHOLLMEIER

Nick joined the department in 2022 and quickly became our fastest firefighter-medic — which is convenient, because with everything he does, we’re pretty sure he only has one speed: full send. Between running Going the Distance Delivery, serving on the School Board, coaching multiple school programs, firefighting, providing medical care, and being an all-around hero, Nick’s calendar probably needs its own emergency response plan.

He flips on the emergency lights as soon as he’s allowed — sirens are the bonus round — and yes, he absolutely practices his hero walk every time he puts on the gear. His strangest rescue so far? An imaginary dog. Nick is funny, smart, dedicated, always has your back, and somehow still throws the best parties. We’re not saying he’s probably exhausted… but if anyone sees him standing still, please check for a pulse. 🚒👏

Thank you for everything you do, Nick!

FYI! Emergency lines are temporarily down! Please call 907-843-2795 for service

Due to a series of unfortunate events and life just happening, Firefighter/Medic of the week is taking a small break but will be back!

We love all of the community engagement and we can’t wait to be back, hopefully next week! Stay Tuned!
