Grateful for the opportunity to moderate the Dickson County mayoral debate, and a big thank you to 101.5 The Ride for hosting such an important community conversation.
With early voting in Tennessee’s primary elections starting today, it’s a timely reminder that our right to vote is something to both cherish and actively participate in. Civic engagement starts with being informed and events like this help make that possible.
I also want to thank the roughly 200 attendees who showed up to watch the debate live. Your presence and interest in the future of your community truly matter.
Make a plan, get informed, and most importantly—vote.
We are so honored to tell these victims’ stories. In this case, Karie’s father shares his heart with us. Karie was a beautiful soul and is still missed by many. Link to video is in comments. Please share.
Karie Newberry was 17 years old. A young mother raising a baby boy named DJ.
One night, Karie went out… and never came home.
The next morning, her car was found sitting in the driveway. The keys were still inside. Her baby was back in the house.
But Karie was gone.
What followed was a search that would lead investigators into the woods, and to a discovery that would change the entire direction of the case.

Joining this trend because 2016 was truly an amazing year (hence all the pictures). We welcomed Georgia! I was part of a phenomenal morning show crew working alongside the best friends anyone could ask for. One moment I was laughing and interviewing celebrities, the next I was home full-on mom mode: potty training, sleep training, and soaking in every minute. I won my first Emmy… virtually… while on maternity leave. (Thanks to Mary & Chris who FaceTimed me spontaneously) I cherish my time with the team and honestly miss our morning laughter on the regular. Grateful for a life filled with moments and memories like these. I hope 2016 was a good year for you too. ❤️
Please share: Part 2 is here! Trooper Calvin Jenks was shot and killed while conducting a traffic stop near the intersection of Highways 14 and 54 in Tipton County. Detectives walk you through the unbelievable investigation and remember the incredible man who gave his life protecting the community.

The next episode is out!! On a quiet night at a rural trailer near Land Between the Lakes, a 911 call set off an investigation that quickly began to unravel.
A boyfriend claimed two unknown intruders stormed the home, demanded money, knocked him unconscious, and brutally murdered his girlfriend, Tracy South. But when investigators arrived, the scene didn’t match the story. The trailer was orderly. Key details were missing. And the explanation raised more questions than answers.
In this episode of Tennessee Murder Trails, we examine the physical evidence, the inconsistencies in the account, and the investigative steps that exposed what really happened inside the trailer that night.
This is the story of Tracy South — and how a staged crime scene failed to withstand scrutiny.
