I had the privilege of offering the invocation at this year’s Memorial Day event for the City of El Monte. I’ve posted the basis of my prayer below:
“O Lord our God, on this day, we - the City of El Monte…along with all the United State of America, do remember and honor our fallen soldiers.
Soldiers who have paid the ultimate sacrifice - in laying down their lives, for the freedom of our people, and even the freedom of our world.
We honor them; we thank You for them.
We pray for any family members left behind - please comfort them, provide for them, and heal their broken hearts. May they know that the blood that was shed, was not in vain, and will always be valued in our hearts…on high; that the way they died will impact the way we live - inspired by their courage, and their commitment to fight for the right to life and liberty, rights given to us by a God who loves us.
Lord, Your Word says in the Gospel of John 15:13, “Greater LOVE has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.”
O Lord, on this Memorial Day we remember that love. We pray, for that love, that THAT kind of love would be received, appreciated, and emulated. That that kind of love would bring peace and unity in our City, and in our nation.
O Lord, on this Memorial Day, help us in this. We cannot do this without Your Divine intervention.
So…with this hope, we look up.
Please help our city and the citizens of this nation to know that Memorial Day should ignite memories of Calvary, where Your Son Jesus shed His blood and died to pay the price, not only for a temporal peace, but an eternal peace, an everlasting liberty, as citizens of heaven.
John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.“
In Jesus’ Name. Amen.”

I haven’t arrived - and I’ve frequently failed - but I will never give up on my prayer life.
No matter who you are, I hope you know, God loves to hear your voice, your heart, keep praying beloved.
And I know there’s someone out there who needs to get real with God - today’s the day for the distant religion to end, my friend. Drop to your knees and cry out to Jesus. He loves you.
Message me if you need prayer.

You may kiss your bride 😘
Here’s a funny video that I picked up from one of the late night shows - be sure to watch to the end. 😂
Thank you moms for your amazing and unconditional love. Praying all the mom’s have a blessed and Happy Mother’s Day 🙏🏼
…and of course, every dad is different, with different strengths. I thank God for the way He has designed the family with both fathers and mothers.
Before the wedding started, I had recorded some words to be played - it was a surprise even to Shelly.
Here’s the transcript:
“It was six years ago that Shelly and I began dating, the first 3 1/2 years were like a roller coaster ride with many bumps and bruises, and just as we were about to give up something happened - Jesus Christ came into our lives.
He has kept us together through all the storms of life and without Him we wouldn’t be here today. He has shown me how precious she is and by His grace has given me a love for her that will never die…and so we dedicate this wedding to the One who is faithful and true Jesus Christ.”

Today my wife Shelly and I celebrate 34 years of marriage!
We were dating/courting for 6 years prior - so that’s 40 years together! We met at the age of 3 (jk).
Simply put, she’s the love of my life, the one God gave me, the one who completes me, prays for me, and inspires me to be the man God has called me to be. If it weren’t for Shelly, I have no doubt that I would have lost in life.
There have been many hard times along the way - we are a work in progress, but because of the Lord - His mercy and grace, we’ve kept our marriage vows.
I love you babe - it’s overwhelming to realize that I was chosen by God and by you (Genesis 2:18).
Thank You Jesus!
“Husband and wife,” - you may now kiss your bride!
My wife, the spark of my life…
Super blessed to serve the Lord and His people alongside these guys!
Great fellowship, worship, and time in the Word on Unity and Holiness - (2 Timothy 4; Nehemiah 1).

I came across Psalm 119:37 this morning and wanted to dive deeper into it. I think we all know the importance of our eyes - right? What are we looking at?
Worthless things? The Hebrew word translated “worthless” (shāw) speaks of things that are unreal, connected to disappointment and deceit; without value, illusionary.
One of my favorite commentators on the Psalms is C. H. Spurgeon. I encourage you to ponder what he said, and pray Psalm 119:37, we all need God’s help to honor Him with our eyes. Lord…please give us Your vision.
Last thing I’ll say, I’ve seen this style of IG posts, thought I’d create my own Christian version.
