Roast small roast often. The best way we’ve found for ensuring customers get the freshest coffee possible. Coffee stays good for a long time but the flavor peaks from 2 weeks to 2 months after roasting. Drink more fresh coffee and taste the difference!

Today in coffee history, an antique coffee grinder! The original fresh ground craft coffee experience. Gifted to us from a farmers market patron. Too cool!

When sizing up a cup one of the cues we use is looking at the color along the rim. Medium and light roasts in particular have some beautiful orange and amber hues when poured correctly. A great sign of a delicious cup to come!

Ever seen a hand roaster before? Before committing to a roasting machine we started our journey trying out roasting on the stove top with this handy guy. You constantly stir the beans inside while it’s heating and try your best to get an even roast. Not the most practical way to roast but a fun way to get the idea of the process!

Loving this little single serve pour over device! And a metal filter means no paper waste. Might have found our new coffee travel companion!

“I like it when my coffee is thick almost syrupy. How do I get that at home?” I love it when customers ask us questions on making better coffee 🤓 In this case the key is your ratio of ground coffee to water. Industry standard is 1g coffee to 16g water. So for a 8oz cup that’s about 20g coffee to 320g water. For our beans that should give you a pretty strong cup but for an even thicker and bolder brew you could lower your ratio to 1:15. In general 1:15-1:17 is going to be tasty and full bodied. Enjoy!
