“SUGAR RUSH” started from a small moment we didn’t expect to matter so much. Haley was laying on the beach when she first heard “Need” by Atticus Rush. It was one of those songs that you just had to loop. We immediately reached out and the instrumental he produced for us felt so unique yet familiar. Josias started writing to it while we were staying in a hotel by Lake Michigan for one Haley’s wedding paintings. That same night we sat in the car, opened the sunroof, and listened to the first demo under the stars. The lyrics are little pieces of that weekend and those moments next to each other.
