Human, Socialist on principle, humanitarian by birthright "To make a revolution, people must not only struggle against existing institutions.

They must make a philosophical/spiritual leap and become more 'human' human beings. In order to change/transform the world, they must change/transform themselves" ~ Grace Lee Boggs

The black community needs to stop teaching their children that everything is about race. It's not. They need to stop talking about race.

qasimrashid 1m
Ahh yes. The people who:
•Enslaved, terrorized, then Banned Black people from schools, military GI Bill, FHA
loans, and,reparations
•Lynched & are now kidnapping Latinos into concentration camps
•Locked Japanese people into camps & banned all Asian immigration
•Broke every single treaty with Native Americans, while committing genocide
•And who are now gutting laws that helped counter that harm & passing laws to ban teaching that history...
Whine "stop makin everything about race"

"Just a reminder that a protest without a functioning guillotine is just a parade." - Comment on OP

not to be an old cranky leftist but going forward i think those of us who live in the us need to remember a protest is not a group powerwalk to register polite disapproval with those in power

a protest is an implied threat. a protest says there are a lot of us, and we do not like what you're doing. we are giving you a chance to course correct before we take things to the next level.

if there's no shared commitment to the potential of moving to that next level: a protest is useless and essentially just public performance art.

*futuristic city*

How it turned out:
Sad guy: "Babies should have food"
Bootlicking simp yells: "Trillionaires need more money!"

"I am sure there are much smarter people than me commenting on the juxtaposition of the Knicks and NYC's NBA Championship and what is going on at the White House today. But I can't resist.

The Knicks victory showed the importance of sports in creating community. The city celebration and sense of joy is everywhere. People are taking immense pride in not just the team and its players but the feeling of what it means to be together with people who don't look like you, worship like you, speak the same language, and many of whom do not have the same country or place of origin. But it is a share moment. Likewise, while Jalen Brunson and the Knicks players and coaches are something special, they are importantly smart, humble and understand that they are part of a city and community that is celebrating something bigger than themselves.

At the White House today, Trump is celebrating his birthday. It is all about him. As part of his birthday there will be a UFC event on the White House lawn. UFC is not part of a community - it has followers often based, although not entirely, around a set of values, as opposed to building community or cross-cultural solidarity. It is a sport that valorizes violence (I am not totally innocent since I am a boxing fan) and beating someone into submission. It is the sports' representation of Trump's approach to immigrants, to political opponents, to Iran, Cuba, Venezuela, and Greenland. It also presents a kind of toxic masculinity that Trump wants normalized. And, mostly, it is all about him, not us." - Larry Alcoff

Absent a people's revolution, capitalism was always destined for dystopia. The beginning of the end occurred when corporate power fully solidified itself in the US state after the 1960s. Since then, the govnt has funneled countless trillions from the people to the billionaires.

Whites who try to characterize anti-racism, or resistance to racism, do not get to whine about reverse racism. That's not a thing.

Dr. Cristina Rhodes
Hello! Welcome to your friendly reminder that racism is a structure built to oppress marginalized groups. It does not go both ways. So the dominant power cannot experience racism. In other words: white people do not experience racism. There is no such thing as "reverse racism."

It's finished, America, you're now the world's trailer park. 😕

"The 28 percent of people who still support this are gone. They might as well be on Neptune. No remotely sane or decent person can look at what just happened and not be embarrassed for this country. We’ve got trailer trash brawls and WWE-style interviews on the White House lawn now. Josh Hokit called Michelle Obama a man, and Joe Rogan just smiled and Paramount let it air like it was normal. How much lower are we going to allow these literal degenerates to drag us all?" - Joman

MAGA cultists and groupies for Capitalism, this is why we call you bootlicking simps...

The sad reality is the US population is infected with a high concentration of sycophants/cowards. They bow down to power (no matter how corrupt/ oppressive), worship wealth (no matter if stolen), and attack the most vulnerable in a constant attempt to impress/appease our masters.
