Our July 2025 MSG meetup will again be a collaboration; this time between MSG members and the Ann Arbor Art Center (AAAC). The meetup will be held at AAAC, 117 East Liberty Street, Ann Arbor on Sunday, July 13, 2025 from 1:00-3:00PM. We will meet on the 3rd floor, across from the jewelry studio. Our agenda for this meeting covers a brief introduction from AAAC staff and thoughts on ways we may be able to work together, meetup attendee introductions, a short tour of AAAC’s jewelry studio, and time for networking and sharing:
Learn about AAAC’s support of artists, including several MSG members
Talk about the potential for teaching metalsmithing skills at AAAC
Talk about the potential for having your work displayed in the AAAC gallery shop
Show off your new creations; tell us how they were made
Share what you’re working on - successes/challenges/frustrations
Get feedback from fellow metalsmiths
Discuss new techniques, resources and upcoming events
This is a great opportunity to check out the AAAC and talk with art enthusiasts and members who sell their work there on consignment. Or maybe you’ll want to consider sharing your knowledge by teaching a class or two. And as always, it will offer an opportunity to see familiar faces and meet new friends.
Light snacks will be provided, and you are also welcome to bring your own snacks.
