PARENTS: Looking for a good place to introduce your kids to sushi?

The Goblin might be the reason my son went from being hesitant to try sushi to ordering bluefin tuna and yellowtail.

A few years ago, I was trying to get Pauly to branch out and try new foods. Like a lot of kids, sushi felt a little intimidating at first. Then came Goblin’s rice panda.

It seems simple, but that little panda made sushi feel fun instead of unfamiliar. What started as excitement over a panda made of rice turned into curiosity about the rest of the plate. Before long, he was trying salmon, which quickly became his favorite fish.

Fast forward to today, and Goblin has become one of our favorite spots. The bright, playful atmosphere, Pokémon décor, K-pop influence, and colorful aesthetic make it feel welcoming and exciting for kids while still serving fantastic sushi.

On this visit, Pauly tried even more new fish and officially became a fan of bluefin tuna and yellowtail.

As a parent, it’s incredibly rewarding to watch your child become more adventurous with food. Sometimes all it takes is an environment that makes trying something new feel exciting instead of intimidating.

Thank you, Goblin, for serving fantastic quality sushi at reasonable prices while creating a space that’s fun, approachable, and family-friendly. We love it here.

The Franklin was top notch 🔥🦪

Always a great time with the Detroit Free Press and Chevy Detroit teams at the Top 10 Takeover.

This time we checked out The Franklin, voted the No. 1 new restaurant and dining experience in Metro Detroit. The place has that classic oyster bar energy with a neighborhood gem feel. Fresh oysters, great seafood, craft cocktails, and everything we tried was on point.

We also got to spend some time with the Chevy Tahoe High Country, and that thing is clean. Smooth ride, comfortable, and packed with features.

Really enjoyed the meal and getting to spend the evening with some great people. Definitely a spot I’ll be back to visit.
