About three years ago I had the good fortune to meet this incredible lady. We decided to start a support group for women filmmakers in Detroit and FINAL GIRLS was born. Today we're featuring her as part of our Kickstarter campaign to raise the remaining matching funds needed for the Knight Foundation grant we were awarded. The piece follows Christina Lumpkin, a 58 year old grandmother whose gratitude outweighs her struggles. As Zak Rosen puts it: "I've learned so much from documenting the life of Christina Lumpkin this year. The most profound thing Ms. Chris teaches is the everyday practice of gratitude. Her year has been full of more emotional, physical and financial pain I could imagine undergoing, but at the end of it, here she is, telling us to "be grateful cause you have life, and that your alive to see it cause some aren't. Some people that was here last year ain't here this year. So just be grateful and thankful and don't forget where you come from."
