QC Database uses QR codes in all of its workflows. We recommend reading this article to understand their inherent risk. Ignore the click-bate title.
Link: https://www.forbes.com/sites/forbestechcouncil/2020/06/01/i-dont-scan-qr-codes-and-neither-should-you/
To protect yourself while using QR codes at work, we strongly recommend that you do the following:
1. Use the QR scanner built into QC Database. This scanner will warn you if the code is not a link to a document on QC Database. This protect's users from downloading malware if they head the warning.
2. Do not scan codes from an untrusted source.
3. Do not scan codes sent to you in an email as scammers can spoof the sender address.
4. Treat QR codes with the same respect as hyperlinks. Phishing attacks can easily substitute QR codes for links to avoid your email provider's safeguards.
QR Codes are safe if treated with the proper respect. The linked article is a great read for our users that wish to know more. by
