My favorite part was learning more about this historic structure (First Congregational Church) via the helpful staff and how it was part of the underground railroad, which helped many of my ancestors get into Canada for freedom.

My Story.
It started with semi-broken computer my dad gave me when I was 12. It was only able to type text on the very tiny screen but I quickly learned how to type my name. Fast forward a few years, I found myself always asking to play Mavis Beacon on my parents’ computer. It was the most amazing thing I've ever seen in my teen life. I loved it’s graphics, sound and unique interface.
After taking every computer class I could in high school and later earning my BFA from Wayne State University, I became a graphic artist and designer. I now work in design using several different mediums that utilizes sketching, color theory, digitalized photography and 3d objects. Much of my process can include contrasting lines, abstract details, motifs and organic objects. Most of these I find as an inspiration through environments, whether it is in nature, live music, travel along with constant visits to galleries and museums.
Throughout the years I have embraced artists such as Herb Lubalin, Andy Warhol, and Neville Brody. During my studies as an undergraduate, I was very much influenced by the art history of the Dada and Futurism periods. My recent works have evolved around textiles designs, apparel products, branding and creative website designs for a wider diverse of clients based businesses.
I made Creative Hina Design LLC (hina: creative goddess of the night) official in 2012; it was founded in 2000 while attending WSU, where various projects were fueled by student groups, events and designs for professors and friends. I attained B.F.A in 2004.
I am continually designing new collections, experimenting with different techniques along with graphic designs and collaborating with new clients such as INKY CLOUD of England, Quetarshe Textiles Design Studio, and Soul Sweet Beads, just to name a few. I also run an Etsy Store with graphic apparel and products.
Apart from designing, I enjoy researching, blogging, party decorating, crafts, vegan cooking and practicing Capoeira. I reside in Metro Detroit with my husband and two children.
