Each session focuses on a different aspect of running a creative business and is led by a guest speaker specializing in that area. From contracts and pitching, to IP and legal protection, the interactive program is customized based on the needs and questions of the individuals in each cohort.

As a sustainable agricultural design + development firm and urban farm, focuses on designing solutions for climate change and building community resilience. Their urban farm produces flowers, dyes, textiles & fresh produce for the surrounding community.

For the 2024 Detroit Month of Design they hosted a “Growing Paint” community workshop, teaching participants to how to make dye, pigments and textiles from materials grown on their farm in Detroit’s Dexter-Linwood neighborhood.

The sibling-started firm offers a variety of services, ranging from sustainable development to outdoor design to florals and consulting. They bring an inclusive, community-centric approach to neighborhood design, climate-change mitigation and sustainable development.

Designing Justice + Designing Spaces (DJDS) is an architecture and real estate development nonprofit working to end mass incarceration by building infrastructure that addresses its root causes: poverty, racism, unequal access to resources, and the criminal justice system itself.

Environments + Microclimates: A collaborative standout of The 2024 Detroit Month of Design.
This year, fiber arts collective took over the historic Boyer Campbell Building with a triumphant group show featuring the work of 60+ artists.
Led by & - the show provided visitors with a staggering range of potential possibilities, ranging from traditional gallery experiences to interactive opportunities & hands-on workshops. With each enclave curated by a different artist, they all provided their own glimpse into a unique realm.

explores her family history through the nightlife culture of Detroit’s Paradise Valley in the 1940s.
Using her family archive, Childs’ practice of fabric manipulation through textile tradition delves into themes of consumerism, bling culture, and how the African Diaspora impacts African Americans contemporarily.
