Vanguard is pleased to announce the arrival of Dutch Girl Donuts to the Historic North End Milwaukee Junction Main Street District. Our ongoing efforts to revitalize the business district in our neighborhood are yielding promising results, attracting more businesses, residents, and visitors to our historic community.

Vanguard CDC co-hosted the National Planning Conference Mobile Tour in the North End, alongside Marja Farrow of the Farrow Group. We are pleased to have co-organized the mobile tour of the North End/Milwaukee Junction neighborhoods. After the tour, Wonwoo Lee and his team (Song United) led us on a tour of the Chroma Building. We heard from panelists about preserving heritage while planning for the future.
Panelists included LaTrice McClendon (Knight Foundation), Stefen Welch (Detroit Pistons), Rob Lockett (Detroit LISC), and Calvin Johnson (City of Detroit). The panel discussion was moderated by Keith Hernandez (Department of Housing and Urban Development).
