Grace and Jimmy Boggs lived on our beloved Field Street, and their work as freedom fighters continues to inspire us today. Come watch the film, share in conversation about their legacy, and connect with neighbors.

Our Music & Games in the Park event was a whole vibe! ✨🎶🎊

Folks from all walks of life came together to play games, share food, connect, and build community all while dancing to the sounds of the incredible Field Street Band and special guest performers!

We’re so grateful to hold space like this with our neighbors. Huge thanks to our block club members and the amazing volunteers who showed up with their time and energy. We love you and appreciate you! 🥰

For folks who’ve been wanting to visit Taproot Sanctuary! You’re welcome to come by anytime:) But we’ll also be hosting a tour with the Great Lakes Bioneers Conference. Even if you don’t register with the program you are welcome to join this tour!

Sun as Our Teacher and Guide This is an opportunity to re-imagine your own relationship with the sun and the earth through a tour of Taproot Sanctuary, a community practicing living in right relationship with the Earth, our neighbors and ourselves. Join the folks at Taproot not only to see how they are getting back on nature’s grid, but to imagine and experiment with ways that you can get back on nature’s grid in your own home.

Congrats to Belinda of Field Street Block Club and Black Bottom Business, .detroit for receiving a Spirit of Detroit award from for your amazing work with the community fridge on the corner of Kerchavel and Field. To see more of Ms. Belinda (and other neighbors), come to our Field Street yard sale on Saturday, July 9 from 10am-4pm. Different households will have things for sale in front of their homes!
