🌊 . . . and then over to Destin, to check out our friends' crib. Now, homeward bound.

On our way home we popped to see some stateside friends . . . who turned out to be totally bad influences! Nashville, you broke us a little (hence the radio silence) but what a "yee-haw" of a few days! 🤠

Wow, did we underestimate Japan and the time we'd need to remotely do it some justice. The scale of Tokyo, alone, was mindblowing! Photo dump from our last few days before we headed cross-Pacific 🌏

🇯🇵 We have just felt a 4.3 magnitude eathquake in Tokyo . . .

Locals report instances and severity on an app, which also tells you the epicentre location and depth (shown in the photo).

We were on the third floor of our apartment building, sitting and eating lunch. It was quiet, which I think helped us notice what was happening.

The room shook slightly and we could hear some rumbling sounds, a bit like a few washing machines in the next room, but the building was "rocking", for want of a better word, back and forth, ever so slightly. It lasted about 4 seconds, so was over in a flash.

What a natural phenomenon to have witnessed!

🧡 Final day in Kyoto, visiting Fushimi Inari-taisha Shrine and then heading out of the crowds and up the longest cable car in the country to Mount Hiei and its gardens 🌸

🍑 Get Naked!

At our last hotel we tried a traditional Japanese Onsen; a public bath which uses hot, geothermic spring water rich in minerals.

Bathers remain naked and must thoroughly wash before entering. Tattoos are forbidden and no swimwear is permitted. Splashing and swimming are prohibited and hair must not touch the water. Bathing is for recuperation and relaxation.

To say we were outside of our comfort zone was an understatement, but hey, we'll never see these people again . . . right?
