At first glance, the damage looked obvious. A rubbed-through wire harness had caused all kinds of warning lights and drivability issues. We repaired everything that was visible, but the problem wasn't gone.

After tracing power, grounds, and the throttle circuit, we finally found the culprit: a damaged 5-volt reference wire hidden inside the heat shrink where you couldn't see it from the outside.

This is exactly why proper diagnostics matter. The first problem you find isn't always the problem causing the failure.
