It’s great to be back at the ! New for this year: Golden Fried Veggie Samosas, which are getting rave reviews and selling fast! Crispy, flaky, pastry filled with potatoes, peas and wonderfully balanced spices including cilantro, ginger, jalapeño peppers, lime juice, turmeric, and mango. First-time Iowa State Fair-goer, Teodora Mitov of the WHO 13 News team stopped by the The Veggie Table this morning with Valerie Dale Heath to try one of this year's hottest new items: Deep Fried Sweet Corn Nuggets. Thanks for helping highlight our family food stand, offering deep fried deliciousness for vegetarians, vegans and anyone looking for great food at the Iowa State Fair! Many thanks to Iowa PBS for their article today on vegetarian options at the Iowa State Fair, which highlighted our Vegan Corn Dogs, Veggie Corn Dogs, Deep Fried Peanut Butter & Jelly, our new Sweet Corn Nuggets, and of course our garden of deep fried delights: zucchini, cauliflower, mushrooms, onion rings, green beans, jalapeno poppers, cheese curds, and pickle spears!
