After 14 wonderful years, Americana will close its doors this Sunday. We’re beyond grateful to our staff, guests, and the Des Moines community for your support. It’s been an honor to serve you — thank you for making Americana a part of your lives. ❤️ Come join us this week for one last memory together.

With heavy hearts, we share that Americana will be closing its doors after service on Sunday, September 7th.

For the past 14 years, we’ve had the privilege of being part of Des Moines’ Western Gateway, welcoming guests, celebrating milestones, and creating memories together. When we opened in 2011, our goal was to add vibrancy to downtown—and thanks to you, our loyal guests and supporters, it has been an incredible journey.

To our amazing team—our family—thank you for being the heartbeat of Americana. Your passion, creativity, and hospitality made this place what it is. To our vendors and partners, we are grateful for your years of support in helping us deliver the very best to our guests.

While it’s hard to say goodbye, we take comfort in knowing that together, we built something special. As the saying goes, “Don’t be sad because it’s over, smile because it happened.”

We invite you to join us for one last Bombshell Brunch, a favorite bite, or a cocktail in this space we’ve all loved. We will miss you dearly, and we are forever thankful for your part in Americana’s story.

Did you know? We are located within walking 👣 distance to Hoyt Sherman and Temple Theater, and just a quick drive to Des Moines Civic Center and Wells Fargo Arena. Also, as always, free parking on weekends and on weekdays after 5:00pm in our parking lot located directly to the west of our building.

💥We’re thrilled to highlight our Executive Chef, Chase! Previously, our sous chef, Chase returned to Americana in February 2024 after gaining valuable experience across the industry. Now leading the kitchen, his creativity and passion shine through every dish.

Chase’s menu ideas—especially for our tequila and bourbon dinners—are always innovative, thoughtfully crafted, and executed with care and precision.

His current favorite? The Southern Fried Catfish—a delicious homage to his Southern roots.
