On Friday, we honor Juneteenth (a portmanteau of June and nineteenth), also known as “America’s Second Independence Day” or Freedom Day. Juneteenth is the longest-running African American holiday, celebrating freedom, resilience, and the enduring contributions of Black Americans to our communities and our country.
Juneteenth marks the moment in 1865 when the last enslaved people in Galveston, Texas, learned they were free, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. Today, it serves as both a celebration and a reflection: a reminder of how far we’ve come, and the continued responsibility we share to advance equity, understanding, and opportunity for all.
At BH, inclusion means recognizing the history that shapes our present and committing to a culture where every voice is valued, every story matters, and every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
This week, we celebrate freedom, honor history, and recommit ourselves to building a future rooted in belonging.

June is Men’s Mental Health Awareness Month, and this year, BH is spotlighting Men’s Mental Health Awareness 2.0. Our goal is to go beyond awareness and focus on practical strategies, personal accountability, and inclusive support.
Men often face unique pressures that can impact mental health workplace expectations, societal norms, and personal responsibilities. By creating safe spaces to talk openly and by providing tools to manage stress, anxiety, and emotional well-being, we can foster
a workplace where all people feel supported and empowered.
Prioritizing mental health is not just about coping with stress; it’s about building resilience, staying connected, and creating a supportive environment for yourself and others. 💙

June is Pride Month, a time to celebrate the history, resilience, and contributions of the LGBTQ+ community. Across the country, Pride Month honors the ongoing journey toward equality, dignity, and belonging for all individuals, while also recognizing the importance of creating inclusive spaces where everyone can live and work authentically.
At BH, inclusion is a core part of who we are. Pride Month provides an opportunity to celebrate the diversity that strengthens our organization while reflecting on how we continue to foster a workplace and support communities where everyone feels respected,
valued, and empowered to be their authentic selves. When people feel safe, seen, and supported, it strengthens collaboration, drives innovation, and deepens the connections that help our teams and communities thrive. As we recognize Pride Month, we reaffirm our commitment to creating an environment where everyone belongs and has the opportunity to succeed.
Throughout the month, we encourage team members to learn more about the history of Pride, support LGBTQ+ inclusion, and engage in meaningful conversations about belonging and allyship. Small actions such as listening, learning, and showing support can make a meaningful difference in fostering an environment where everyone feels welcomed.

This year’s theme for Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, “Power in Unity: Strengthening Communities Together,” selected by the Federal Asian Pacific American Council, is a call to action. It reminds us that unity is more than standing side by side; it’s about intentionally building connections, honoring shared and individual stories, and showing up for one another in meaningful ways.
Unity means recognizing that our differences are not barriers, they are strengths. When we create space for diverse voices, we unlock innovation, deepen understanding, and build cultures where people feel seen, heard, and valued. It’s in that collective strength
that true belonging takes root.
Throughout our nation’s history, AAPI individuals have helped shape our society through innovation, leadership, service, and cultural influence. This month provides an opportunity to honor those contributions while celebrating the diverse traditions, languages,
and stories that strengthen our communities.
Throughout the month, we’ll be celebrating some of our wildly awesome AAPI teammates in our series “Faces of BH.” First up is Paulina Ngo, a Regional Manager in our Midwest region. 🩷

May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and this year we’re taking our conversation deeper with Mental Health Awareness 2.0. Beyond awareness, this approach emphasizes personal accountability, practical strategies, and meaningful support in the workplace.
Mental Health is not just an individual concern, it affects teams’ productivity, and overall workplace culture. Our goal is to create an environment where everyone feels supported, heard, and empowered to take proactive steps for their well-being. By recognizing
our own needs and offering thoughtful support to colleagues, we help build a workplace where everyone feels empowered and included.
Mental Health Matters. Together, we can create a workplace where everyone thrives. 💚

April is Fair Housing Awareness Month, a time to reflect on the importance of equitable housing and our shared responsibility to create communities where everyone feels welcomed and respected. Guided by the principles of the Fair Housing Act, we are reminded that fair housing is more than a legal requirement; it is a commitment to treating every individual with dignity and ensuring equal access to opportunity.
This year’s theme, “Fair Housing: Where Everyone Belongs,” encourages us to move beyond basic compliance and focus on real-life application, awareness, and accountability in our daily interactions. We all play a role in supporting fair housing, whether through inclusive communication, consistent service, or thoughtful decision-making.
Together, we can help ensure that the places we serve are communities where fairness leads, opportunity is shared, and everyone truly belongs.
