I am endorsed by Seattle Pride. I look forward to allying on behalf of our LGBTQIA+ community. My major objective once elected is to create an inclusive space reflective of the desires of our LGBTQIA+ community living in Des Moines.

Just issuing my statement in regards to the recent shooting at the La Familia Lounge.
As we pay respect to the lives lost at the grill, we always have to
remind ourselves how serious and how close to home this hits all of
us.
Why Not you Academy is 3 minutes walking distance from the La Familia Lounge. 3 Minutes.....Imagine sending your kids to
school, saying your last: "I Love You" or "I will see you later". Not sure if your child will come back home safely. Many parents already have the fear of COVID-19 but the violence that occurred on September 25th reflects the failure of policy from some of our current leadership.
The lack of policies and protocol to provide necessary protection and safety for members of the community that lives in this neighborhood is apparent and appalling. It also shows the convenience of our current leaders to respond when convenient as long as it's not in the "Other Side of Town" or as some would call the location of the shooting "The Ghetto".
If you are tired of local elected officials determining the value of your community and the value of you as an individual.

As you all are well aware from the last council meeting. The City of Des Moines just received $9,029,879 from the American Rescue Plan or ARP.
Just giving my take on the proposed expenditures for the ARP. See the attached video.
