We put in most of our maple taps today. I'll get everything else set up Wednesday and Thursday. Hopefully, we'll be boiling by Saturday or Sunday.

Is St. Patrick's Day too early to take down Christmas lights and bring in Christmas decorations like Santa Clauses, reindeer, etc? I'm asking for folks in my neighborhood.

2 weeks ago we set up our tubing and set out our collection tanks. After 2 weeks of subnormal temperature, we will be putting up the pavilion today and assembling the evaporator. It looks like this next week will be a good run. By this time last year, I had made almost half of our years syrup.

I know it is cold and no sap is currently running, but we are still going out today to install our tap lines. I have to do it when I can get help, and today is it.
It'll warm up soon and we will be ready.
