On today’s Fact Friday, we’re looking at state sales taxes. Just five states don’t charge a sales tax! Of those five, however, Alaska does allow local municipalities to implement sales tax.

Taxes have their place in how governments are able to provide for their citizens, but overtaxation leads to a weak economy. It’s all about finding the balance between how much government spends and how much it takes in.
