Summer vacation is officially underway, and today Bella brought a very special guest to her lesson. 🩵🎶

Her Memere joined us for the afternoon, and Bella sang one of the songs from her very first recital - a song that holds years of memories for their family.

There was a lot of smiling, a little reminiscing, and one very proud grandmother in the audience.

I have a super soft spot for Grandmothers, and I love seeing them light up with delight over their talented grandchildren!

I'd say the performance was a hit. 😊✨

The half day has come and gone, the Derry Homegrown Farm & Artisan Market is back for the season, and summer vacation has officially begun. ☀️🎶

Cadence celebrated by bringing a friend along to her lesson, and before long, there was plenty of singing, laughing, and music filling the room.

Music has a way of following students beyond their lesson time. It shows up in friendships, theater rehearsals, school performances, car rides, and afternoons spent making music together.

Today felt like the perfect start to summer. 🩵

Sometimes the perfect pairing is right in front of you. 🎶🩵

For the past few weeks, Justin and Kyle have been working on A Million Dreams from The Greatest Showman in their individual lessons.

As we worked on the song, something became clear: each student naturally gravitated toward a different part of the piece. Kyle loved singing the younger boy's opening, while Justin preferred the more mature section later in the song.

Since the song itself grows from a young dreamer into an older voice looking back, putting them together felt like the perfect fit.

Today was their first rehearsal as a duet, and we're excited to continue preparing them for their performance at the Derry Homegrown Farm & Artisan Market this August - right outside our studio doors! 🌽🎶

We're grateful for the invitation to perform and can't wait for another opportunity for our singers to share their talents with the community this summer. 🩵

Students learning. Teachers teaching. Pianists practicing. Singers working through a new song just because they love it.

I love that our students learn from artists who are still actively investing in their own craft. The learning never really stops.

Emmalyn loves to sing, whether it's pop, country, or musical theater, and we've had a great time working together already.

Right now, we're preparing for her role in Frozen this summer while continuing to build skills that will help her in auditions, performances, and wherever her musical interests take her.

She's a joy to work with, and I'm excited to watch her confidence, skills, and artistry continue to grow.

"Oh! I feel the difference!" 🎶😄

I love giving a student a new technique or a new way to think about it and seeing the change happen in real time.

A singer makes a small adjustment - a breath, a vowel, a resonance change - and suddenly the voice feels easier, freer, stronger, or more comfortable.

You can almost see the light bulb turn on.

Those little moments add up. They build confidence, coordination, and TRUST in the instrument.

And they're a lot of fun to watch. 🩵

Today began with the excitement of Opening Day at the Derry Farmers Market, which will be back every Wednesday this summer from 3–7 PM. 🩵🌽

The day continued with one face after another: singers, musicians, actors, teachers, and families coming and going through the studio.

Miss Tracy even made it over to the Farmers Market after her lessons and returned with my favorite cookies, which almost made up for the fact that I didn't get there myself. 😄🍪

By the time I wrapped up for the night, the market was long over, but I was still making music, ending the evening with a lesson for one of our students on the West Coast, where it was only 5:30 PM when we met.

One of the things I love about virtual lessons is that distance doesn't have to get in the way of great teaching, meaningful connections, or musical growth.

Whether students are across town or across the country, we can still connect, learn, and make music together.

Raelyn received voice lessons as a birthday gift from her grandmother, and I can't think of many better gifts than the chance to discover something you love and carry it with you for years to come.

From the very first lesson, Raelyn proved herself to be both brave and talented, jumping right in and giving things a try with a great attitude.

She is a wonderful candidate for voice lessons, and we're so glad she's here.

She's always been a spicy one. 😄🩵

Years ago, Amber could often be found feeding carrots to Molly in her princess dress.

She was also known to quietly sneak upstairs and leave surprise photos in my security camera. The resulting photo was... unforgettable.

When I sent it to her family, complete with timestamp evidence, Amber's response was simple:

"Wasn't me."

Fast forward a few years.

This week, during her sister's lesson, Amber left herself a little note on the studio mirror declaring that she is "the fav and best."

I didn't even notice until hours later.

The confidence. The commitment to the bit. 😂

Some students bring music.

Some students bring joy.

Amber has always brought both. She's always been a spicy little one, she's genuinely gifted, she's fierce, and she sings her face off. Honestly, we wouldn't have it any other way. 😄🩵
