Cook Airfield is a privately-owned, public-use community airport owned by Crosswinds Aviation, Inc. Cook Airfield is owned by Crosswinds Aviation, Inc.
and managed by Greg Thomas and Steve Logue. It is located near Rose Hill and Derby, Kansas and serves as a community airport to the Wichita, Kansas area. If you’re looking for a private place to fly into and do a little fishing, you might check out Pawnee Wildlife Hunting Preserve. It is located 5 miles south of the Fort Scott Airport (KFSK).

For those who don’t know, Cook Airfield now has an RNAV-A Approach. It was over seven years in the making and couldn’t have been done without the support of KDOT Aviation and Hughes Aerospace.
Our hearts go out to the family and friends of the young lady who died yesterday after a tragic accident with an airplane propeller on Cook Airfield. I wasn't there when it happened, so I will not speculate on what could have or should have happened differently. Just please keep her family, her friends and her Air Capital Drop Zone family in your prayers and thoughts.
