Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there! Watching Flamingo mothers carefully create a mud/poop/feather nests for their chicks to rest and grow in Is a strong reminder of what motherhood means! Being a mother looks a bit different throughout the animal kingdom, but at the end of the day, all mothers deal with a lot of crap just to make sure their kids are taken care of and grow up strong and successful. Thanks to all the moms out there!......

100th post! This photo has stuck with me and carries a lot of emotional weight because I was lucky enough to capture this somber portrait that lasted about a second in between crowds of children who were taking turns banging on the glass trying to get the tiger to do something. This trip to the zoo with was one of the first big tests I had with my (then) new camera and I was still figuring it all out and learning about this photography thing. To me, this photo is one of the best photos I had taken early on and it was one of the first photos I was very proud to have taken. For my 100th post I thought I’d share one of my personal favorites and the brief story behind it!......
