Our Story

5280 Associates is a Denver-based comprehensive wealth management practice. We formed in 2012 when two of Thrivent Financial’s top wealth advisors, Chad Aaberg and Nate Wangerin, came together to form a practice focused on providing the best possible client experience. From the quality of financial advice to developing genuine client relationships, our mission of bringing an unprecedented wealth management experience to Colorado’s Front Range continues.

Our primary service, fee-based financial planning, is a relatively recent revolution in our industry. We provide you with a comprehensive financial plan for a flat, transparent annual fee. It’s that simple! We’ve moved from the old model of just selling specific investment and insurance products to offering comprehensive fee-based advice because we believe it offers something better:

ADVOCACY. Fee-based planning allows us to sit on your side of the table, partnering as your advocate and providing advice in your best interest, regardless of where your money is managed.

TRANSPARENCY. You’ll know exactly what will be incorporated into your financial plan from the start, along with the exact fee. Because we are a comprehensive wealth management practice, we can also implement investment and insurance solutions proposed in your plan, but the choice is up to you.
