“I do think we’re seeing some real pain for homeowners, and that pain is growing,” Colorado Housing Connects Program Director Pat Noonan told Homes.com News.
Colorado Housing Connects was recently featured in a Homes.com News story highlighting the increase our statewide housing hotline is seeing in foreclosure-related calls.
Rising costs, stagnant incomes, property insurance and homeowners association fees are among the challenges many clients face, making the possibility of foreclosure a reality for more Colorado homeowners.
Through Colorado Housing Connects, Brothers Redevelopment helps homeowners better understand their options, connect with available resources and navigate conversations with mortgage servicers before a housing crisis becomes harder to resolve.

Everyone’s path to stable housing looks different.
For some people, support comes from a relative who helps with a security deposit, someone who explains how to build a budget, or adults who model what stable housing can look like. For others, those support systems are harder to access. That’s where housing counseling can make a difference.
Through Colorado Housing Connects, HUD-certified housing counselors help renters, homeowners and future homebuyers understand their options, build financial knowledge and make informed housing decisions.

Foreclosure can happen faster than people realize — especially when life takes an unexpected turn.
That was the case for a Denver mother of five who agreed to share her story anonymously. After experiencing domestic violence and the loss of her brother, she fell behind on her mortgage and faced the possibility of losing her home.
After connecting with Brothers Redevelopment, she received support through Denver’s Foreclosure Financial Assistance Program — a resource we administer — helping stop the foreclosure process and keep her family housed.
Last year, Denver saw 677 foreclosure starts. Programs like this help ensure people facing difficult circumstances have a path forward.
