In a powerful moment that blended music and protest, Bruce Springsteen made a surprise appearance at Tom Morello’s "Concert of Solidarity & Resistance to Defend Minnesota!” benefit show in Minneapolis.

Springsteen joined Tom Morello and other performers at Minneapolis’ legendary First Avenue venue to raise funds for the families of Renee Good and Alex Pretti, who were killed in a controversial incident involving federal immigration agents earlier this month.

During the set, Springsteen debuted his new protest song “Streets of Minneapolis,” a track written in response to the events surrounding the shootings and heavily critical of federal immigration enforcement.

The show also served as a call to peaceful action, with Morello encouraging fans to join protests outside the venue after the performance.

It was an unexpected and politically charged appearance from Springsteen and one that resonated with both the musicians onstage and the community in attendance.
