Added event: Tuesday, September 16th in partnership with Redline. We are often asked the question, what is experimental media? It’s a question that is difficult to answer, so we tasked ourselves with an attempt at explanation through a documentary series that highlights Colorado-based artists. We will screen the second and third installment of this series featuring Elle Hong and Phillip David Stearns followed by a Q&A with the artists who are both currently in residency at Redline.

Please join us for the opening screening for the 10th Digerati Experimental Media Festival at the Denver Art Museum featuring Void in Resonance by Jerónimo Reyes-Retana. CultureHaus members and festival pass holders are invited for a cocktail reception prior to the film.

“Informed by over four years of fieldwork and community engagement, Void in Resonance—originally conceived as a film installation—captures intimate moments of a SpaceX launch through the eyes of those working in an oyster field in the Mexican borderlands, revealing the personal and collective impacts of the land-based infrastructure required for what has been mistakenly called a new era of outer space exploration, when in fact it marks a new era of outer space industrialization.”

Following the film screening, Jerónimo Reyes-Retana will join Eric Coombs Esmail in conversation about the film. The program will end with a short Q&A session.
