It's so here's a little about how our newest Advocate, Veronica Pippard, joined the Targeted Legal Staffing Solutions team!

"It started a as night at the Rockies game and ended with a new career I didn’t know I needed...

I thought it was just going to be a fun night at the Rockies game and a celebration of my friend, Dana’s, promotion.

It was both, and more.

Dana shared that her promotion meant that there was an opening at Targeted Legal and the seed was planted.

Initially I didn’t think too much of it, but days after the game it was still something that was in the back of my mind.

I called Dana and told her that I wanted to learn more.

After a fun night at happy hour and learning more about the role, Dana suggested I connect with her colleague, Amanda.

I spoke with Amanda and she sold me. I agreed to meet with Marcus to really determine if it was the career move I was looking for.

I shared with Marcus more about my experience, why I was thinking about a new opportunity and what I needed from a company in order to feel confident in making a change. Marcus listened to every word I said and pinpointed each of the key things I wanted and was missing in my current role.

Then I met the team and witnessed first hand the sense of teamwork and camaraderie that existed.

I was in.

And now, here I am. I get to be an advocate for my clients and candidates. I’m a part of an amazing team. I feel challenged and I’m growing.

Moral of the story, when opportunity knocks, always be willing to listen. You never know how perfect something could turn out to be!

We are currently representing one of the largest non-profits in Colorado in their search for a skilled Paralegal/Legal Department Administrator to support their legal department and General Counsel. This candidate must share the organization’s passion for helping people and advocating for their membership. This is a great opportunity to join a mission-focused organization deeply committed to bettering the lives of students and teachers in Colorado.

Qualifications:
Paralegal certificate and/or college degree with relevant experience
5 + years of experience as a paralegal or administrator in a law firm is required
Must have administrative experience in bookkeeping and maintaining office budgets including billings and expenses
Have excellent oral and written skills
Efficiently be able to maintain confidential documents and records
Ability to multi-task and keep up with competing priorities in order to meet deadlines under pressure
Able to work in a team environment as well as independently with little supervision
Proven experience with a variety of computer programs including Microsoft Office Suite and have the ability to quickly learn new software
Able to compile and organize complex data and information
Work effectively under high-pressure situations
Experience drafting both legal and corporate documents
Willing to travel as necessary for conferences and training
Must have knowledge of unions, non-profit corporations or other membership-based organizations

Responsibilities:
Process high volume of insurance claims
Draft and prepare all correspondence, minutes, memorandums and reports for General Counsel
Conduct legal research and maintain Association documents and communications and files for General Counsel
Maintain calendar and all scheduling for General Counsel
Billing: Input attorneys’ time and expenses and transmit monthly for reimbursement
Prepare and reconcile accounts, general ledger and budget and participate in audits
Maintain and process requests for attorney referral program roster
Process yearly renewal of Association contract
Prepare pamphlets, brochures and newsletters
Maintain correspondence with members, local and state leaders, legal staff and GC
Other duties as assigned by the General Counsel
