Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has created a way for the public to report unsafe ebike usage.

We understand the frustration around unsafe e-moto riding in our community, and we’re listening.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has created a way for residents to anonymously document unsafe e-bike, electric motorcycle, or dirt bike activity.

Here’s the IMPORTANT distinction:
The issue is not traditional e-bikes. The growing concern involves high-powered electric motorcycles, often marketed online as “e-bikes,” that exceed Colorado’s legal 750-watt limit with pedals attached to make these vehicles appear bicycle-like.

Many of these vehicles can reach speeds of 30 to 65+ mph and are legally classified as motor vehicles, meaning they require registration, insurance, and a driver’s license.

Our goal is safety for riders, pedestrians, drivers, and neighborhoods across Jefferson County.

To learn more or anonymously document unsafe activity, please visit the link in our first comment.

Great outcome today!

I am so happy to report has been served! After a 4 day trial, and unforeseen circumstances (a small fire in the courthouse closing it down), today, a jury rendered a $2,237,500.00 verdict in favor of a very deserving client! and I fought hard and acknowledged all the facts - good and bad. We were The jury told us how they appreciated our honesty! The defendant was insured by State Farm. The offer before trial was $95,000.00. Just another example of the Goliath failing to doing the right thing. The entire trial they blamed everyone but the defendant driver. The jury disagreed🙏 we asked them to render a verdict for $1M and change - they wanted to give more and did. Because this crashed happened in 2020, we get to ask the court to amend the verdict to include interest, making it a total verdict of $3,163,798.79.
Thank you for bringing me onboard to try this with you. What a pleasure to work with such an incredible team!

More than half of drivers from closed trucking school failed their re-test, or didn't show up at all 04/13/2024

Earlier this year, the State of Colorado shut down the Randy Lopez trucking school and began the process of re-testing nearly 200 drivers who had recently tested for their commercial driver’s license through the school. More than half of the drivers failed their re-test or failed to show up. Recognizing the importance of keeping Colorado roads safe, the State is now considering re-testing all current CDL license holders who were tested by the school.
