What 24 hours in foster care can do!

Life on the streets is hard for kittens. We work closely with trappers to TNR colonies and prevent kitten births. Many kittens born outside suffer from disease due to inbreeding, lack of resources, and harsh conditions. Once we get them inside, fed, and on meds, the difference is amazing.

And yes, the parents are trapped and fixed. Full circle rescue is where it’s at!

Thanks to the trappers who work hard to contain the colonies, and to the fosters who work hard on getting these babies healthy!

Our $2 Tuesday is a little different today. Some of you may remember Lemmy as he has been featured several times in our fundraisers. He is FIV+, had FIP twice, and was finally diagnosed wth hemophilia after multiple problems with severe bleedings after procedures. He was scheduled to go to a specialty hospital out of state for a dental procedure as they had everything needed to handle any complications that could arise.

But yesterday Lemmy started coughing up blood, and this can be a rare but serious complication of hemophilia. We rushed him to MedVet where they put him in oxygen and had the critical care team examine him, but they agreed he had fallen victim to this complication and his lungs were filling with blood. We felt the kindest thing to do was let him cross before he couldn’t breathe anymore.

Lemmy was a very sweet boy who gave purrs, pets, and love up until the very end. Thank you to your kind donations that helped him live as long as possible. Any donations will help cover his last few hours.

We almost missed $2 Tuesday!! Let’s talk about eyeballs.

Kitty colds are something we deal with extensively, and they can wreck havoc on a baby kittens eyes. And adult cats! Thankfully we have a whole slew of vets behind us that know what they are doing and are armed with antibiotic drops, antiviral meds, plasma, botox, and various surgeries. So far this year we’ve had eye removals, surgeries to fix eyelids, procedures to remove foxtails from eyes, and procedures to help fill in the eye structures to keep things where they need to be! So many things affect the eyes! And it adds up fast. Please donate a bit to help us help them see better!!
