A preliminary sketch for a mermaid I am painting for my show with Jamie on October.
I’m going to Creative Night au Valkarie tonight to work on the next one.

“Ignition”, a charging halflinger under a sky of golden fire is showing in “Horsing Around” the Annual Invitational Chinese New Year Show at Valkarie Gallery.

The opening reception is February 7th 5-8:30, showing through March 8th.

I know, not very impressive. Once the paint hits the panel that’ll change.
It’s tough sketching from multiple references.
It would be so much easier and faster to copy one picture. But Drawing is a skill that takes time and a critical eye. Is her head too small, the horses rear end needs to be longer.
I tried to get chat gpt to help me but the results were laughable. That’s a skill I haven’t worked on yet.
