Its been a real long time since I've played this classic, glad I can still remember it. Always love the way cello music translates so well to marimba.

Hadn't heard of until recently and when I discovered this track, I knew immediately I'd want to cover it. It has such a happy, chill vibe to it, and was a pleasant challenge to learn/arrange. Might have to revisit this and do my flip someday 🤔

Just some thoughts I've had about music and life lately. I've actually never done a video like this where it's just me talking to the camera. But I thought I'd share because it's important we don't take for granted the incredible and diverse art that's in the world. Love ya'll ❤️🤘

I like the bass ostinato I came up with here. Might use it as the basis for a new track. Gonna keep grinding and posting my music, covers, loops like this, and more.

Been listening to a lot of lately as well as reading a lot of sci fi. The result is this bassy jam with some fun sound design. Def looking forward to playing this live. Maybe in space?

This was a fun challenge to play on marimba. It took WAY longer to learn/arrange than anticipated and I had to slow it down a bit. But it has a nice groove to it like this and sits well on marimba. is such a unique and inspiring vibe.

When I was a freshman in college, I took a composition class that changed my life and everything I knew about music. Every week, we were assigned 3 or more scores to study and had to right a paper on them. It was a lot at the time especially since I was playing in several ensembles, so I locked myself in the library every Sunday to do this and ended up falling in love with studying scores and the music in them.

It really deepened my understanding of orchestration, music theory, form, history, basically everything, so Ive decided to bring it back and share the experience with you all. Some weeks like this one, Ill pick a piece Ive never heard before, other weeks will be familiar favs, no matter what, there's always knowledge to be gained and music to enjoy.

We are starting with Beethoven's String Quartet in C # minor, Op. 131, year 1826. I really enoyed this piece and it shows a more "romantic" and lyrical style to Beethoven I hadn't heard before. When most people listen to Beethoven, it's usually his piano or symphonic works, so this was a nice change. You can def hear how later romantic composers would be influenced by this particular sound and the entire piece has a form that Ive never seen before.

Anyways, I hope you all listen and enjoy! Did you like it? What do you think and what are some other pieces of music I should include for ?

Bringing back my solo loop, jammy jam series. Always a good time just picking a couple chords, setting a nice drum groove, and then just playing whatever comes to your heart. However, soloing is something Ive always struggled with, so hopefully this series gives me the practice Ive been needing.

Was trying to change things up a bit with this one so instead of writing in the usual minor key, I chose an altered scale for the melody, added some congas with the drums, and out came this bad boi. Listen to the whole track at the below! Will also be streaming on spotify in a few days!
