After nearly a decade across three states, my time in news came to an end yesterday.
I have gotten to tell some incredible stories and do amazing things during my time at WXYZ Detroit, 9&10 News, NewsChannel 5 Nashville and Denver7. From reporting with incredible photographers, to being a one-woman-band running around Nashville in the middle of the night, to the anchor desk and traffic center, to honing in on writing and long-form digital storytelling, it’s been an unbelievable ride.
This is also a tough business. It’s not as glamorous as some believe, people can make unwarranted and nasty comments, work happens all hours of every day of the year and it can be hard to live your life with the salary.
I’m so grateful for this career and the wonderful people I have met, some who became some of my best friends. I’ll always believe in the power and importance of journalism. I’ll just be appreciating it from afar now.
Starting Monday, I’ll get to tell the inspiring stories of Children’s Hospital Colorado.
I started this page to connect with my community and share stories. I’ll likely focus more of my energy on connecting with my friends and family privately on social media from now on, but I’m so grateful for the support over the years from everyone here. Much love to you all 🤍.

Anyone who knows me knows I'm a summer girl, but even I'm getting the itch for the crisp air, crunchy leaves and stunning Colorado views of the golden aspens.
In just about a month, it's likely we'll be seeing some of that glorious, peak fall color.
With the help of the expert on Colorado fall color Mike Nelson, here's an *early forecast on the best time to experience peak fall color across the state and an interactive map on great places to hike and drive thanks to fellow Denver7 digital journalist Stephanie Butzer.

Hundreds of wild horses were gathered in a northwestern Colorado roundup originally scheduled for September. The Bureau of Land Management Colorado decided to move it up to June because they were concerned about range conditions in the Piceance-East Herd Management Area.
While BLM called the roundup a success, some wild horse advocates continue to voice their concerns over the methods used to gather the horses.

On Wednesday, the Denver Police Department held a news conference to provide additional details on the shooting of an armed man that also injured six innocent bystanders — one more than originally reported.
“Did something go wrong? Yeah, six people who additionally got injured shouldn’t have gotten injured that night,” Denver Police Department Commander Matt Clark said.
Two victims also discussed what happened that night shortly after the press conference. They both have hired an attorney for what happens next.
"Lots of frustration toward learning about the situation and learning you’ve been shot by a Denver police officer," one of the victims said. "I would really just like to hear from them. Taking accountability, taking responsibility for their actions. And an apology, which I know will probably never come."
