Welcome to Connected Camps 03/12/2015

Institute of Play & A Summer of Minecraft

Institute of Play is working with a global, youth-oriented company called Connected Camps, which will be bringing a Summer of Minecraft to kids everywhere this July. Summer of Minecraft is the first-of-its-kind virtual camp where kids ages 9-13 will level up in Minecraft with expert counselors and other campers in a safe, moderated, multiplayer environment. While there is a modest fee to enroll in the camp itself (having access to the moderated servers and counselors), all the learning materials, including 4 weeks worth of design challenges are online events are open and free, so that as many kids as possible can take part. And we’ve partnered with LA public libraries to offer a face-to-face version of the camp to kids who don’t have access to Minecraft at home. Registration for Summer of Minecraft will open on March 12.
