Havana Club cocktail by Lavenue. Hum, Fernet, Strega, Ginger beer and OJ. Aroma was awesome. Taste was surprisingly refreshing yet very hip. Cool stuff. Bought a Woodford Rye New Cask Sazerac for a gentleman at the bar. That was cheap. :/ thanks Marissa

Justin Frumkes reminded me of a great cocktail today, the Bobby Burns appearing in Savoy Cocktail Book. This one made by Matt Hemphill at Ocean Prime. Dewar's Scotch, sweet vermouth, Benedictine and lemon peel stirred, served in coupe or cocktail if possible. So many simple variations. Use 12 yr and Drambuie (Embury) for more rich and sweet, bitters and white label for a little smoke and complexity.

Just had New Master's Collection from Woodford, FOUR WOOD. Aged in Oak, finished in Port, Sherry casks and Maple wood. 94.4%. Very fruity, baked and dried, spicy oak, brown sugar and caramel. A good amount of heat. Complex to say the least. A couple cubes a must. Layers separate and oak tempered. A must try. Brassy bourbon by Chris Morris.
