We will be closed today in observance of Juneteenth!

At Warren Village, today is both a joyful celebration and an important day for reflection. We honor the resilience of Black Americans and recognize the many contributions they have made to our community and to society. Happy Juneteenth!

It was truly an honor to welcome the Mother General of the Sisters of St. Francis to our Gilpin campus last week.

The Sisters of St. Francis have been generous, longtime supporters of Warren Village. One of them, Sister Hanna, is a beloved teacher in our Early Learning Center!

Last week, the Mother General visited from Rome. Our CEO Ethan and VP of Development Michele Kilen were grateful to show her the work she and her group have helped make possible.

We are deeply thankful for the Sisters' continued generosity and the lasting impact they have on the families we serve!

Kirsten never thought she'd own a home.

She moved into Warren Village in 2018 as a young mother with a two-year-old son. At the time, she was simply seeking stability.

Three years later, she had a job offer from a major tech company. Her Family Advocate, Kaycie, mentioned something Kirsten had never considered:

"'With this type of income, you would be able to buy a house,'" she remembers Kaycie saying. "That was never something I thought would be possible."

Two years after leaving Warren Village, Kirsten bought a five-bedroom home.

At Warren Village, we often say of our program that housing is foundational, but our people and programs are transformational.

Attaining stability is just the beginning for our families. Behind every success like Kirsten's is a teacher, advocate, or mental health clinician who stood by every step of the way.

Your gift supports the people who make that possible. Every dollar up to $20,000 will be matched by one of our generous donors. Link in comments!

Last Saturday, we held our first-ever community hike for Summit Members -- our monthly givers!

It was a beautiful morning at Alderfer / Three Sisters Park in Evergreen. We love moments like this where our donors, board members and staff can come together and deepen our connection. 🗻

Interested in deepening your connection to Warren Village? Consider becoming a Summit Member today! We've got more member-exclusive events like this planned in the future.

Housing is at the core of what we do. But if you ask our residents what changed their lives, they'll often tell you something else.

They'll talk about the Family Advocate who helped them map their future, or the mental health clinician who listened to them carefully, or the ELC teacher who made their child feel loved and supported.

This June, we'll be sharing the stories of two Warren Village families and the staff members who walked alongside them every day:

- A single mom whose Family Advocate helped her see that homeownership was possible
- A woman who grew up in our hallways as a child and came back to serve the families in them

Your support helps fuel this transformation. Follow along this month as we introduce you to the team behind the mission!

A message from our VP of Development, Michele Kilen:

Please join us in celebrating 10 years of Ethan Hemming as Warren Village's President & CEO!

As we celebrate Ethan’s 10-year anniversary, I’ve had the privilege of helping put together a scrapbook filled with messages from donors, partners, community leaders, staff, and friends.

Reading through these reflections has been incredibly moving. Again and again, people spoke not only about Ethan’s leadership and impact on families, but about his kindness, humor, humility, and the way he makes people feel seen and valued.

I can honestly say I would not be at Warren Village if Ethan were not our CEO. Over the last five years, he has challenged me to grow as a leader, encouraged me to step outside my comfort zone, and believed in me in ways that have shaped both my career and who I am as a person.

He also makes this work fun. In the middle of big challenges and ambitious goals, Ethan brings humor, perspective, and humanity every day, and that kind of leadership is rare.

Congratulations, Ethan, on 10 incredible years leading Warren Village. Your impact on this community, and on so many of us personally, is immeasurable.

Please join us in congratulating Ethan Hemming on 10 years of leadership at Warren Village!

Neema, one of our wonderful residents, talked with Grace Bastidas of The Mommune about her path to Warren Village, healing her inner child, and the special way she keeps her own mother's memory alive.

The Mommune "explores the nuances of motherhood through intimate conversations with moms across the country," specifically how moms form support networks.

Thank you to Neema for bravely telling your story, and to Grace for amplifying such an important topic!

Ever wondered what a board member does at a nonprofit?

Nicole Marquez knows the job intimately. At the end of March, she finished her second term -- equal to six years -- on the board at Warren Village.

We sat down to ask her what it's really like. What inspired her to join the board? What advice does she have for prospective board members? And what is she most proud of accomplishing with Warren Village?

Find out at the link in the comments!

This past Friday, the DMV came to us!

Thanks to the DMV2GO program and nine months of behind-the-scenes work by our Family Advocate Janesa, 16 Warren Village residents at Alameda were able to access DMV services right on-site. No waiting for an appointment or transportation needed!

In all, 13 residents walked away with a driver's license or state ID. Three adolescents got their very first ID ever. And one resident can now finish her education this summer because having an ID unlocks the tests she needs to take.

This event was personal for Janesa. She and Saundra, the resident pictured here, who is currently living at our Alameda campus, had been working toward her driver's license together for nearly two years.

DMV2GO will be back at Alameda in November. We are thrilled about this partnership and can't wait to do it again!
