I did a thing!!! I shot the cover of magazine! Squealing in delight! 😱🤩🤩 The 2nd BEST part is that I got to work with the students from Know Justice, Know Peace podcast: The Take . I feel ridiculously honored to have been selected to participate in such an incredible moment in time and with some incredible people making history! I am humbled and hopeful and these are truly outstanding and inspiring young people! If you don’t already know, these “kids” are making HUGE impacts on policy in their community, their schools and they’re just getting started.
✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽✊🏼✊🏻
P.S. if you want to support these students, their school and/or their mission, they have an online store with items (cool face masks too😷) designed by some of their students. Check’em out! https://stores.inksoft.com/DMLKMentalHealth/shop/home

Thank you for entrusting me with this important moment and the students and staff at and The Take for being such a pleasure and delight to work with!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽

I present to you: Bagel Bites of Baddassery! 🥯🥯🥯🥯

Seems like a perfect cool, crisp fall morning to head over to your local "bagelry" to grab some breakfast and/or brunchie bagel bites of basassery and this is the perfect place for such an endeavor! Their bagels are hand-crafted, in-house by the owner himself and all of their sandwich creations are damn crafty and creative and SCRUMPTIOUS!! My fave (I'll post a pic, is the Santorini!). Also, I not a fan of , but has a blend that I ADORE!!! So yummy and JUST right IMHO. Oh and...they have a drive-thru, so you don't even have to get your buns off your butt-warmer in your car! 🌡🍑 ☺️

How about more food for your eyes to feast upon! If you don't know by now, there's a super cool, fast casual eatery all about Ethiopian cuisine! Did you now Denver has a thriving and large Ethiopian population? Many Ethiopian restaurants are tucked away in strip malls and shopping centers along Havana in East Denver and I've photographed several and all have different influences from their neighboring tribes and countries, but always colorful, textures and awesome to shoot! At any rate, this is the first time I've seen Ethiopian cuisine in the mainstream scene in Denver out West in Edgewater. So I'm stoked to see Konjo making a name for themselves in the Denver food scene and I'm eager to watch them grow and glow up! 🇪🇹
Please check'em out! They have delivery AND they also have a FOOD TRUCK!! 🚛

I guess...as is the case with most artists, we expose, expel and excercise our demons through our art. One such demon for me is my crippling anxiety that inexplicably and uncontrollably causes me to overthink, overanalyze and overindulge my "gift" to see all possible outcomes and play-out every possible scenario in all decisions, every day, all day endlessly. It's dizzying and destructive...a mind never quiet, even if my voice is. What quiets this "gift/curse/disability" for me is convening with nature with my camera. I regularly comment how it's not only therapeutic and necessary, but there is a reverence and peace in this communion I've developed with myself and Gaia...or whatever name you choose for the Force the sustains life. Though my photos of nature are rarely sweeping vistas or epic landscapes, they are about the understated or overlooked...the micro and macro of nature mean just as much, if not more in their quiet humility and sometimes overlooked brilliance.

Soo....not a "technically" a good photo, but isn't it still a snazzy shot with a damn camera phone? I spent, spend rather, too much time doubting my work largely because I truly don't care if an image is tack sharp or whether or not you can count the pores on a clients cheek, or chromatic aberrations that occur due to lens imperfections and blah, blah, blah. Don't get me wrong, they matter...in context for some situations. But really, the fundamental basics of photography and what makes art has little to do with the quality of your optics and the megapixels of your camera. 🤦🏽‍♀️ But rather: light, color, composition and captivating moments and THAT'S what my photography is about, and that's why I shoot. Color, composition, craft... creative, not necessarily consummate. So...here's a busy bee trying to sip some sweet nectar as the sun sets on a dingy road in an industrial complex in Commerce City.
