✨late summer 2015 I began to rediscover my light and my spiritual journey truly started to unravel. I was taken through many dark phases but allowed myself to grow and let go of the past. The knowledge I’ve gained for myself through this shadow work will always persist. As I continue to shed my layers, I begin to love and understand myself more each day. It’s a wonderful feeling after years of doubting myself. There is nothing you deserve more than to be true to yourself 🙏💓☮️🌈🦋🌟

✨I showed my mural to a coworker today and stated my initial inspiration, ‘the girl with kaleidoscope eyes’. Their response was along the lines of, “this means something more to you but you don’t know what it is yet.” I had been having an emotional day, but I was empowered to go continue working. Not only was I given the push I needed to create but also guidance towards spiritual growth. So grateful for today! Excited to finish my mural and share what it means to me 🙏♥️🌟

✨First Friday’s always bring in the most unique individuals and I LOVE IT! This sweetheart is so extremely wise and it was a blessing meeting her. It was beautiful to hear a being a decade younger than me know things I started leaning in my mid 20s. With my move to Colorado there was only ONE item missing, and it has been found! I made this brass/copper heart pendant while I attended and to this day is one of my absolute favorites.

The professor was constantly saying, “if you can do it with paper, you can do it with metal”. Words in which I’ll never forget! Our first project was to create a pendant and we were given magazines for inspiration.

Earlier that day I was conversing with classmates; as one left the other looked at me and spoke ill of the others appearance. This hurt me and had me confused. We were all freshmen trying to make friends and they were talking down about someone who was only displaying kindness. My intentions have always been to be kind to all I cross paths with, and this showed me that’s not how everyone lives.

So for my project I chose to cut out a piece of hair, an eye and lips for my pendant. I used these physical appearance items to create an anatomical heart.

This piece means so much to me and has always inspired me to live the way I feel. Growing up my mom would always tell me to treat others how I wanted to be treated. When we walk around judging others we’re also harming ourselves. We are all here searching for happiness, which lies in our hearts. Sharing love, creating smiles and laughter is happiness; this is how I choose to live my life. It’s what keeps me warm. Sending Y’ALL my LOVE 🙏💗☮️🌟💓

✨everyday this photo of me is a reminder. A reminder that I have broken free. It was taken by an artist at the not long after I had broken down in tears. This was my first art event in Denver and right when I walked in someone told me a joke. The subject was something I’d never taken lightly and triggered my ptsd. I let it change my whole night and sunk into my dark place. A new friend continued to asked me what was wrong, until I broken down. That moment was so special for it showed me I was surrounding myself with beautiful people. It has also taught me so much; I’ve always had this trigger and it was time to change that. I’ve been working on just that and I know that I am in control. This is a reminder of how good it feels to let go. 🙏💗🦋🌸☮️
